It is John Phillips I think he will have some Witten like grabs today and maybe make us think he is the 2nd best option at tight end not marty B. I have a feeling or maybe it's just gas. What do you guys think about him stepping up with 3 to 4 grabs today for a first down or two.

If Bennett had a catch for every tweet...

In all fairness though the #2 TE doesn't seem to get many looks in this offense so i doubt it

I think it's just gas or pain or whatever it is you do. Maybe rock climbing?

This is asinine. He was a 6th or 7th round draft pick. Where do you get the feeling from?

It doesn't take much for fans to truely start HATING our players does it?

Wouldn't surprise me. He was a solid player in college and if given the opportunity I expect him to make a play of two.

Where did he say he hated Marty B?

I hardly think its out of line to call him a disappointment at this point, and the OP is simply praising the guy that will be taking his place. What's the big deal?

I hope he's right.

...a solid yet unspectacular play by Phillips may make both Garrett and Romo look his way.

He's young and hasn't had a lot of starter snaps, but as I have argued before if he just catches (1) ball for (10) yards he will have equaled Bennett's season average.

It's difficult for the #2 TE because opposite side is manned by a perennial Pro Bowl TE. But with some consistent and trusty performances may be one can get the team and mre importantly the QBs confidence.

That's the point of the 2 TE set to begin with.

It's easy to hate marty B. He doesn't produce he's had a lot of hype and jerry didn't trade him for a 1st round pick.

It would be nice to use Marty B as trade bait... I wouldn't mind getting our first back.

I really like jon phillips.

Watching him catch the ball every week in warmups, he looks like a natural and he has excellent size.

I bet we dont miss a beat. The only concern I have is will he be able to play at a high level for 60 minutes or more.

That's because Garrett has to keep him in on the 2 tight-end sets all day, because the blocking up front is sucking, whether because of coaching or the OL is just sucking...

I'm sure Phillips won't be that much of a drop off from MartyBS. Could be an improvement in the passing game.

It's funny to me how a group of fans that rally around the emergence (exaggerated) of Barbie Carpenter after nearly half a decade of existence in the WPP feel that Marty B won't eventually step up his play. If it were left up to some fans we would live on the waiver wire and skip the draft party every year...

What fans are rallying around carp?

Them 7 step drops are really important I guess.
