My predictions about Hatcher & Wilcox were correct

As soon as I heard we were making the move to a 4-3 defense, I knew Hatcher was gonna strive. All off-season I was saying how our defensive line was not gonna be an issue at all this year unless by injury. I knew Hatcher was gonna play extremely well just by seeing how he's progressed these past couple of years. He's more suited to be a 4-3 DT than a 3-4 DE. I couldn't believe some people wanted to go Dline over Oline in the draft... Some people were even calling him a journeyman & that he's getting too old.. Have you seen how fit this guy is? He makes Dware look small. He's a physical specimen. Look how well the D-line is doing even without Rat & Spencer. This guy has atleast 3 more years in him if not more. Glad to see him proving people wrong.

& Wilcox, after seeing how he played in the preseason, I knew we had to get this guy on the field. I had even said he had the speed to play FS and Church would play SS like he normally does. People thought I was crazy to say he should play & that he shouldn't have a chance until next year. Some people were saying he could just be another AoA that can hit. No instincts. Looks like he's proving some people wrong too. He has a long way to go to before he can become a good pro saftey but he's definitely an upgrade over Allen.

It's sad that some people still don't want to admit that Hatcher is a top DT.

What's amazing is Kiffin and Marinelli thought they were going to play Hatcher at end when they first got to Dallas. They didn't think a 6'6 tackle could get the same kind of leverage required to play in this scheme (like Warren Sapp, who was what, maybe 6'1?). Hatcher has done a tremendous job staying low and playing with power. Plus, it helps that he's also playing like a mean son of a gun.

In his first start Wilcox surprised me with his quickness. I have read about it on the forums here but didn't have the chance to actually see him play in preseason. To bad his first interception was called back though. You think WIlcox will call out Hatcher and tell him to get his head out of his rear end. ;)
