With the promise of a new season, I wanted to express my thoughts and predictions for this season.

The important questions:
  1. Will Dak return to form or start to decline?
  2. At 32, how many games can Tyron Smith play before he gets injured?
  3. Can our defense make critical stops when we need them, esp stopping the run?
  4. What are the effects of losing Kellen "The Hammer" Moore and Big Mac calling plays?
  5. Will the curtains be closed for home games lol?
My prediction: 9-8 with a first round, wild card playoff win followed by the traditional divisional round loss.

My reasons for my prediction are listed below:
  • Dak will return to form making last season's interceptions an anomaly
  • Injuries always happen and a lack of depth on the offensive line will be tested
  • "Losing" KMoore as offensive "coordinator" will be a perk, not a liability
  • I still don't feel like the run defense has been fixed so we'll see
  • There are always surprise teams and I can see us losing some winnable games that look like easy wins now
  • Finally, the continued streak of having a hc that has zero power to hire and fire will continue to cripple this team, esp in the post season. We have done an amazing job of drafting and building a roster that could compete in the post season but the Jones model of constantly undermining the hc and making trades behind his back will continue to be the ceiling we hit in the post season. Culture, hierarchy, and delegated authority matter in any organization and not having a pyramid power structure (we have a "spoke and hub" power structure with everyone (players, coaches, etc) reporting to the Jones boys) where authority is delegated flies in the face of organizational excellence and the effects are inescapable.
It will be curtains if:
  1. Dak gets injured - That was the luckiest 4 wins Cooper Rush had last season and I don't think he's in the top 50% of backup QBs in the NFL. I also don't think much of Trey Lance (If SF can't make a QB out of a player, then wow).
  2. Our center Tyler B gets injured
  3. Parsons gets injured for more than a few games
  4. The Eagles look the same as last season
What do you think?

Assuming dak stays healthy I don't see 8 losses on this schedule with the defense we have. Maybe 11-6 with upside to 13-4 if they stay mostly healthy.

This defense will win 8 games by themselves.

As for the traditional divisional round loss, sure why not....if it keeps hitting black, keep betting black..

This team is better than last years. We went 12-5 last season and our strength of schedule is middle of the road. I don't see 3 extra losses.

The OP doesn't make sense if the assumption is that Dak's turnovers go back to his norms.

Each season is an independent event. There is no reason to believe that because we lost in the divisional round before that we will continue to do so.

As far as our quarterback, this is perfect for him back to the start. This is the best style for him. Methodical dink dunk control the football. As far as defense. I don’t think anybody scores more than 24 points on us to season. In a particular game.

My prediction 13 and 4. Perfect storm and Cowboys go to the Super Bowl and win it.

So, the only thing impacting on the field success is your perception that McCarthy didn’t have enough input prior for the draft or in free agency.

We get it. You don’t like the ownership. Your argument though falls on its face because what happens before week one has minimal or no impact on the end result.

I can only assume you’re hating on Will McCkay because he is the one that handles the draft.

You and Bob were taught well on sentence and paragraph structure.
Good write-up, I don't have an opinion or guess at the moment what will happen.

Started losing me at 9-8. Lost me at a division game loss.

I know this is popular to say, as it gets likes from the un-realists. But how about worrying about the playoffs once they get here. Enjoy the season first.

Brother if Dak returns to form there's no way we are winning only 9 games.

This is the year, my man. I feel it! Enjoy the ride!

p.s. Penalties are my only concern.

Conversely somebody will predict a 14-3 season and the “realists” will be showering them with likes……

If you dream it , they will do it…….that’s all it takes
