I can live with that. But what messes us up is when we acquire a Trey Lance.

I can live with that. But what messes us up is when we acquire a Trey Lance.

Suddenly the most positive posters go hard negative and the most negative ones go full positive.

This is what really surprised me about it. The negative responses.
I expected the negative posters to respond positive.

Each season is an independent event. There is no reason to believe that because we lost in the divisional round before that we will continue to do so.

This is exactly correct. Too much is made of what happened yesterday and it means it will happen tomorrow.

I’m simply basing my opinions on what I’ve seen the past 28 seasons. A head coach with no power and a power structure where everyone reports to Jerry (and son) instead of a delegated pyramid hierarchy simply does not wk in the NFL unless your goal is to win a few wildcard games every five years. The bottom line is we have not changed the basic Jones model in 28 seasons and I’m just saying we won’t win s**t this post season because of it. You’re free to defend the past 28 seasons but we can’t can win this way.

And Will McClay has been brilliant and we’re lucky to have him. Will McClay is not responsible for Jerry hiring the “head coach’s” staff for them. McClay also doesn’t get to decide if we have the blinding sun on home games.

28 seasons in a row sans an nfc championship appearance doesn’t create Eeyores, it creates doubting Thomas’s. And yeah almost thirty years usually makes me correct in my post season predictions but only if you’ve been paying attention the past 28 seasons.

Assuming dak stays healthy I don't see 8 losses on this schedule with the defense we have. Maybe 11-6 with upside to 13-4 if they stay mostly healthy.

This defense will win 8 games by themselves.


As for the traditional divisional round loss, sure why not....if it keeps hitting black, keep betting black..

We don’t know exactly how good our defense is going to be. It looks good on paper, but that means nothing. Our D started off great last season, but fell off as the season went on. Our pass rush that had been so great vanished the second half of the season. We started giving up a lot of points, after keeping opponents under 20 the first several games of the season. We still don’t know how well we’re going to do against the run. If we put too much on our defense to win games, we’re going to be in trouble. I want to see our defense play consistent throughout the season. If we lose Parsons that could knock our defense down several notches. Regardless if Dak stays healthy, we’re going to have to avoid key injuries, because the Cowboys have a very difficult schedule this season. We haven’t seen our starters play since last season so we don’t know for sure what kind of team we have until the opener next week.

I’m pretty sure there are quite a few posters on here that sit in the living room alone moaning in pleasure when the Cowboys lose a game just because they get to scream “I told you so!” On here Monday morning. Weird behavior.

Playoffs? Wild card win, divisional round loss, internet explosion about Dak (even though the reason is older, and above his pay grade).

In the big picture, nothing about this team has really changed. It's just the annual rearranging of the deck chairs.

Bullet, it seems to me we got better. We were 12-5 two years straight and to think we'll drop to 9-8 seams like an ultimate failure.

I say we remain 12-5 and we get to the NFC Championship game.
