Quarterback (2)
Dak Prescott
Cooper Rush
Notes: No surprise here if you've watched the first two preseason games. I know how much Moore is liked from a coach stand-point, look for his return as an assistant QB coach.
Running Back/Fullback (4)
Darren McFadden
Alfred Morris
Rod Smith
Keith Smith
*Ezekiel Elliot (suspended)
Notes: I would give all of the 3 RBs ample opportunity to make plays while Zeke is serving his suspension. And just lean more on the guys getting the job done. All 3 are decent. FB Keith Smith is showing more flash as a receiver coming out of backfield and looks good with the ball when he has gotten touches.
Wide Receiver (6)
Dez Bryant
Brice Butler
Cole Beasley
Terrance Williams
Ryan Switzer
Noah Brown
PS: Andy Jones
Notes: I don't want to risk putting Noah Brown through waivers, do you? He has ideal size and can make plays with good hands catching the ball. Needs to hold onto the ball and I don't think that will be an issue going forward.
Tight End (3)
Jason Witten
Rico Gathers
Geoff Swaim
PS: Blake Jarwin
Notes: Tough cut in Hanna - I'm ready to roll with these three though and sacrifices had to made to get it down to 53. Will miss Hanna's blocking for sure, but Swaim is decent and I think we can manage here. Rico is the red zone specialist and "secret" weapon.
Offensive Line (8)
Tyron Smith
Jonathan Cooper
Travis Frederick
Zack Martin
La’el Collins
Chaz Green
Joe Looney
Emmett Cleary
PS: Dan Skipper
PS: Kadeem Edwards
Notes: Skipper needs a year in the weight room. Cleary is a concern for depth but for now he is on the 53. Waiver wire may provide a better option.
Defensive Line ( 9)
DeMarcus Lawrence
Maliek Collins
Cedric Thornton
Taco Charlton
Tyrone Crawford
Stephen Paea
Joey Ivie
Benson Mayowa
Lewis Neal
*Damontre Moore (suspended)
*David Irving (suspended)
PS: Charles Tapper
PS: Lenny Jones
Notes: Tapper was a tough cut but I don't see anything special thus far. The remaining preseason games could change that outlook though. He could sail through waivers at this point and ride with the practice squad. Lenny Jones is a newly forming pet cat for me. Great motor and makes plays! Lewis Neal makes the team with his great play thus far which should continue. Some guys that could shine in this group.
Linebacker (8)
Sean Lee
Anthony Hitchens
Damien Wilson
Kyle Wilber
Jaylon Smith
Mark Nzeocha
Justin Durant
John Lotulelei
Defensive Backs (10)
Orlando Scandrick
Nolan Carroll
Byron Jones
Jeff Heath
Xavier Woods
Anthony Brown
Chidobe Awuzie
Jourdan Lewis
Kavon Frazier
Duke Thomas
PS: Marquez White
PS: Jamiell Showers
Notes: Should be a solid group if they can put it all together. Duke Thomas has come on strong and looks like he'll make the team over White. Showers is useful on practice squad as QB.
Specialist (3)
Dan Bailey
Chris Jones
L.P. Ladouceur
PS: Sam Irwin-Hill
Notes: Wouldn't want any other 3 in the league. Irwin-Hill is an interesting prospect to keep around.
