My PS game 3 clean slate thoughts

We have 2 sloppy PS games. Seen a lot of the rookies and 2nd and 3rd year players. Only appearances by some starters. Players we need to step up, some have and some haven't.

The DL guys in Gregory have shown they can be players. Russell, Jones in his limited time. Damien Wilson, and Corey White. Swaim looks good, Collins showing what he will be capable of.

Guys that did not step up, anyone at swing tackle. Backup QB's. but in fairness to Weeden, he did leave with an injury. Did not see enough of the RB's. Need to see more from Whitehead in the return game, or from anyone else. Heath did not look good to me, and I don't care for McCray except for ST's for both of them. But Tim Scott, I put above them both now. Vaughan is struggling a lot, I moved him from the 53 to the PS, him or Showers.

With a lot of players being dinged up, I will wipe the slate clean and see what happens these next 2 games. Especially the dress rehearsal game, if they play the starters as they normally would.

Things I want to see.
McFadden and Randle look good at running the ball and picking up blitzes. The OL just playing together and get a glimpse of them opening holes for the RB's.
Weeden to return and have a good performance even with 2nd team guy against 2nd team guys.
I would like to see Collins get a chance at swing tackle, though Garrett said he is better suited at OG, and they don't want to move these guys around. But they may have to.
I want to see Harwell and Porter push for the 5th WR spot, as I am not sold on Whitehead yet as a total player. But these guys could be destined for the PS. As Whitehead makes it for ST's.

Need to see Byron Jones return from his shoulder deal, and want to see Mo gets in some plays. Would be nice to see Mo, Carr, Jones, Wilcox at DB's and Scandrick in the slot.
The continued play of Gregory against a starting OL in the Vikings. See Hardy, DLaw, Crawford, and yes Hayden, and how they do. But if Hardy can move inside some, then DLaw, Gregory, Crawford, Hardy.
Would be nice to see Lee, Hitchins and if McClain was back. But just with Lee and Hitchins, and whoever else will be good too.
I want to see some good things from the young DT's, DE's, to show they belong on the final 53. Bishop, Coleman, Gardner, Russell, which I think he has shown some already.

I want to see Whitehead look more comfortable in the return game, but also want to see some other options too. I am not sold on him yet. But am pulling for him.
Need to see Bailey kick a few long FG's, show he hasn't lost anything.

There are probably only 5 spots up for grabs depending how many they keep at certain positions. But at this point, I am in favor of keeping an extra RB, WR, DL, and maybe a DB over a 3rd QB.

So I am wiping the slate clean and will evaluate my very non expert opinions from the next game, then adjust from there.

I think the team has taken it's cue from the FO and coaching staff that these games mean nothing.

They want to come out healthy and there is little else to see. Only the fringe guys are going hard and that is good.

The position battles are being decided in practice and I guess they trust them to turn it on Week One.

I dunno. Practice isn't recorded and available to the 31 other teams. The players in Cowboys camp aren't only trying to make the Dallas roster. Preseason games are great resumes for these guys.

When I read the title, I thought this was going to be a recap of a game of Madden you played on your Playstation 3.

I couldn't have been the only one.

I don't and never have owned a play station, and I never played Madden.
Nor do I intend to play it or have one.
So how am I supposed to know what people may think what it means.
Tells me more people are into games and fantasy football than the real thing.
