1 Raekwon McMillan, ILB, 6-2 #245 Ohio State

http://i1006.***BLOCKED***/albums/af182/collplayers/osufb-9-18-art0-g7kua0ql-1xtrosu14ksu-kwr-15-jpg_zpsxm8xy6qd.jpg
McMillan already shows NFL-caliber strength, taking on and shedding opponents efficiently with active, powerful hands, lateral agility and balance. He is a powerful tackler, often stopping ballcarriers dead in their tracks.

2 Eddie Jackson, SS, 6 #195 Ala

http://i1006.***BLOCKED***/albums/af182/collplayers/hi-res-027b04419029c0eebfe50072248f17da_crop_north_zpslicd1o5u.jpg
He had six interceptions, 46 tackles and two passes broken up there in the new position last season. Jackson has looked natural as a coverage free safety who can cover in man and play the deep centerfield

3 Chris Wormley DT/DE, 6 - 4 #305 Mich

http://i1006.***BLOCKED***/albums/af182/collplayers/hi-res-4c9f0b409519791dc138f0815828fac4_crop_north_zpsp4ygkjtj.jpg

Listed as a defensive end on the depth chart, Wormley has the versatility to line up both inside and outside

4 Jeremy Sprinkle, TE, 6 -5 #255 Ark

http://i1006.***BLOCKED***/albums/af182/collplayers/UA_vs_KSU_JI_007_zpsz29jgebl.jpg

Led all SEC tight ends with six receiving touchdowns, good for a tie for ninth in the FBS … Finished with 27 receptions for 389 yards. Ranked 12th among FBS tight ends with at least 20 catches with 14.4 yards per reception average … Hauled in a catch in 10 of 13 games … Had 16 receptions of at least 10 yards, including seven of 20 yards or more …

time to look for replacement for Witten

6 Ricky Seals-Jones, WR, 6 - 5 Texas A&\M

http://i1006.***BLOCKED***/albums/af182/collplayers/ricky-seals-jones-ncaa-football-texas-am-south-carolina_zpsdbe3e84f.jpg
Seals-Jones had 45 receptions for 560 yards and four touchdowns. He flashed at times in 2014, recording 49 receptions for 465 yards and four touchdowns

7 Greg Mabin, CB, 6 - 1 #200 Iowa

http://i1006.***BLOCKED***/albums/af182/collplayers/MiamiOhiovIowazsmSCa5Z_ofl_zpskotpetrf.jpg

He has started 22 consecutive games for Iowa at cornerback, played a significant role in the Hawkeyes' rise to Big Ten West power and become a widely respected leader on defense.

7 take your pick

Kyle Kalis, OG, 6 - 4 #305 Michigan

http://i1006.***BLOCKED***/albums/af182/collplayers/635839930870847267-AP-Rutgers-Michigan-Football_zps8nfkfr2k.jpg

Three-year letterman; Has appeared in 37 games as an offensive lineman, starting 28 times at right guard
2015 All-Big Ten third team (media) and All-Big Ten Honorable Men
Appeared in 13 games, making 13 starts at right guard

Storm Norton, OT, 6-8 #305 Toledo

Leader of an offensive line that allowed just five sacks in 411 passing attempts, the second-lowest total in the country

Nathan Gerry, DB, 6 -1 #220 Nebraska

http://i1006.***BLOCKED***/albums/af182/collplayers/NateGerry_2015_0_zpslcvaorbg.jpg

He’s the type of consistent football player that every team covets, and his work ethic is clearly not a question mark of any kind. He led his team in tackles a year ago with 78 total stops, but has led the Huskers in interceptions two years running as well.

Smoot and McMillan are the 2 players that i keep going back and fourth on who I think should be our hopeful get in the 1St so I love the first pick

I would love to get Jackson but I see him getting scooped up early in the 2nd by a DB needy team. I like the Worley pick. Not sure if Sprinkle falls out of day 2 and I see Gerry going much much sooner. But I understand ur following CBS rankings so I would this draft.

Where do you see Jackson playing for us? The Church role or the Wilcox role?

Also, is it safe to assume you don't expect Smith back next season? I just couldn't see us drafting a LB so high if Smith is in the picture. We play with 2x LBs a lot more than we don't.

I am not counting on Smith to be on the field - if he makes it back great but I am not confident

we need a LB er that can actually play

well what I have noticed about CBS over the last few years, is they rank players low to start the season, and as the season completes and we get into the offseason, players move up the rankings.

Smiths recovery or lack thereof will be huge in how this team prepares for the 2017 draft. If we're still in the dark about Smiths nerve regeneration next March, then LB is certainly in play in the 1st round. Sorely lacking speed and play-making at that level of the defense.
