Romo's toughness has never been in question. The guy tried to go back in the game with a smashed collarbone last year. I was thrilled to see us down, and Romo not sulking, which is something he's done in the past. He looked his teammates in the eye and said, here's how we're going to win and then followed through.

Miles was heroic after Romo and he were having a hard time syncing up early in the game. Unlike Dez who has a massive catch radius, Miles and Romo really do need communication to get clicking and boy did they click tonight.

Spencer's in the books with 1 tackle this game, a sack, but his impact was tremendous tonight and once he got that confidence flowing, he just kept going and going. I don't blame him for the TD he got beat for, it was a bad matchup for him and they took advantage.

I mean, I can't go without mentioning Ware and Witten so I'll mention them. DeMarcus Ware. Jason Witten. What more needs to be said?

Koiser was shaky again, maybe the change to RG has put him up against the strength of the linemen that typically play on the run side and he's having a little trouble adjusting. The rest of the line didn't do much better in the run game, something has to be done there.

Jason Garrett started every practice, and every preseason game to my knowledge, with a screen pass. It worked beautifully in the preseason, but doesn't seem to be working as well in the games. I'm not sure why that is, but I'd love to see some of our RB's in space.

Rob Ryan painted another Picasso tonight, he made adjustments and he put players in positions to succeed. The secondary is still very much hit or miss, but the front 7 has been very, very good.

I mentioned Alan Ball last week as a guy that is not particularly spectacular in coverage, but was up to compete with anyone. He's pick today was huge for out defense, and he looked natural doing it. He may never be a great cover guy, but for those wondering why he's still around after flunking so badly as a safety, I think we now see why.

Overall, I thought today was a cleaner game than last week. Not perfect by any stretch, but I'll take any improvement in that department. We have to figure out how to run the ball, that's two weeks in a row now and this time playing "arguably the best defense in the NFL" isn't an excuse we can fall back on.

Romo is suffering for our inability to run, he's already got a broken rib and it's just week 2. Who knows what other injuries might pile up if he keeps taking such a beating.

Gonna take another off season to finish rebuilding the O Line.

Defense playing with more confidence but secondary a mess and liability.

Guy is a complete liability IMO and I give him credit for the pick.

Good post count.

Good post. Romo is a warrior for sure.

Love that the defense was going to force the issue and brought heat late. Was a great call vs. the 49ers.

Some good observations. On Tony Romo, he still makes some poor choices, but no one should be questioning his base line guts now. That forms the basis of real leadership as well. Players can put faith in his guts...and he has plenty of those.

As to taking shots, if one had watched the Philadelphia/Atlanta game, it was full of contact to quarterbacks on both sides. It appeared that they were taking even more punishment...so that may be part of the path at the start of this season for all involved.
