It wasn't really covered as to what happened there. Troy and Joe were talking and it was glossed over. In Wade's postgame press conference he was asked about it (couldn't hear the question) and he basically said he wasn't sure about the penalty and was going to ask the league about it. It really seemed like he didn't want to get fined for voicing his opinion about it.

Right, that's the one. Usually Kristi Scales gets the scoop on the sideline, but no one would tell her what happened except that it wasn't on Wade.

Also how did the party pass seats look? Like they were worth the price of admission plus parking?

Sounds like theo checked it out more than I did, but I was talking to our usher about it and I was surprised to hear that the Party Pass sections were even on the level I was on, not just the decks way up high. The vantage point is really pretty good, and there are more spots where you can see the game than you'd think.

As pleasant as it is in there, I really think Jerry will almost sell these out as long as the team is good. If someone really wanted to go cheap, there were even some $15 parking lots closer than where I parked. So for $44-$49 you can get in and be part of the experience, and I think tons of people will do it.

Biggest complaint about the TV screen -- they need to add the clock to the screen.

They have the score, quarter, and the down and distance. But no time. There are a couple very small clocks around the stadium and it's annoying to have to look elsewhere from the time.

Sorry, CL, I'm just throwing my observations into your thread, because I didn't feel like typing up one of my own. :)

Have I ever mentioned I think he is the weakest link on the coaching staff. More confusion than necessary in the secondary. I think he is one of Jerry's moles.

Wade Wilson will put up a fight on that.

How dare you! :chop: :p:

No, you're right about the clock. It needs to be on the Jerrytron and, along with the down and distance, a lot larger. And if you're not watching the big screen, the game clock and D&D are only on the ribbon panels, which are relatively small.

Another random observation -- the seats in the club sections are amazing. They have 3 inches of padding. After 4-5 hours of sitting there, my butt wasn't numb. Kudos to Jerry on this added expense.

And the stadium announcer is terrible. He screwed up constantly. He even called Felix "Julius Jones" at one point. He was calling names that weren't even playing in the game. At one point, it appeared like he had to look up Ware's name. It was something like "tackle by #94...........long pause................DeMarcus Ware."

I missed your party pass info. Can you relay some of that to me or give me a link?

I heard that too! I turned to my friend and said "did he just call him Julius???" Then he corrected himself. Geez...nice game prep.

And I agree about the club seats, they are so comfortable. Although, unlike the old stadium, these seats fold back up as soon as you stand up. I was so used to the old seats that stayed down unless you manually raised them back up...I stood up to do the wave last night and almost missed the seat on the way back down. :laugh2:

Great question. I was wondering about that too. You can't really tell on TV. Also, CL, I didn't see any noticible crown on the field. Is it flat?
I can't say I know for sure, but I would think there's no crown since the whole point of a crown is to help with drainage on artificial surfaces. (Well, that and to make Brett Favre overthrow his receivers by 10 yards). Obviously, drainage won't be a problem in the new stadium :D

You are correct, there is no crown. ;)

Yes that is great with the club seats, nice leather padded seats.
Jody Dean, from 98.7 FM is the new PA guy. And yes, he was pretty bad. But it was the 1st game.
He replaced George Dunham from The Ticket. Seeing how they switched the flagship radio station from the ticket to the fan. I could see that one happening.
George mentioned that on the radio a few days ago. He said he may be a good thing he is not the PA guy. Because he's done it for the last 11 years, and no playoff wins. So now the jinx is over. :laugh2:

I'm in the Silver Club level. Awesome! Except I was very dissapointed with the food selection. I was told there would be a dining area for before and after the game. There was not. It was standup tables. On the season ticket holder open huse, they said they would be putting in chairs. And the food selection sucked. We had to go down to level 200 or 100 to search for different options. 1st time we went down, they let us walk right through, didn't even check for tickets. The 2nd time we went down, they wouldn't let us in. Said we had to go to the endzone section.
Maybe the had an ego trip and power thing going on. But I will be putting in a complaint on this. Or they better get a better selection in my area othr than a $13 hamburger or $8.50 hot dog. I would have paid the price if that's what I wanted. But they need more options, or get their crap straight on letting us into other areas.

Overall great stadium and experience. Parked in lot 11, took 5 minutes or so to get to our gate. Traffic leaving really not bad at all. Took be 30 minutes to get home.

As other said, the scoreboard, down & distance was hard to locate and see. They didn't keep it up on the video board all the time either.
I managed to watch the action on the fiels the majority of the time. Watched the instant repalys, and when they showed the cheerleaders on the screen.

One thing I thought was bad, unless they do something different. At Texas Stadium they had the big blowup helmet. At gametime introduction, the cheerleaders came out and the players as introduced ran between them. This helped the crowd get pumped up. Now no helmet, cheerleaders came out, formed a v shape, and the players entered from the sidelines. Didn't seem as exciting. But it was a preseason game.

I can see when it is a real game and a full house, this can be a very loud stadium. Even when half full 30 minutes before the game started, you could tell how loud it could possibly be.

From Chocolate Labs original post: "The trumpeting of the national anthem was one of the coolest and classiest things of the night. Bravo, Jerry."

I didn't get to watch the game till Saturday via TIVO,and when they trotted out the trumpet player for the anthem, chills went up my spine, and for a very brief, but crystal clear moment,I was transported back in time to the days when Tommy Loy would play the anthem before the games. Tommy's trumpet rendition was flawless, week after week...clear,sharp,no nonsense,to the point, let's play football.I don't know if Jerry did that on purpose as a tribute to the past, but thanks Jerry.

There is a crown on the field....They showed a ground-level picture on TV, and there was a slight crown. I would say a few inches. Of course, that may just be an optical illusion so I may be wrong.

And the trumpet player was great, but....My wife and I both played the trumpet. My wife played in college. As soon as he started we both looked at each other and said, "he's way too high". He missed several notes. I felt badly for him.

That was a good idea by Jerry.

I also noticed that the trumpet player missed on a few. Ouch.

Brad ended up saying that penalty on defense was probably against Keith Brooking. Brooking made the tackle and tried to take the ball away and then got shoved by the Titan player. I guess the ref saw Keith do something back or something.

I believe he did, because he was showing pictures of the old guy on the big screen.
