My reasoning to start LVE over Lee

With Sean Lee coming back next week, the Cowboys staff is posed with an interesting question. Do they start lee over LVE? The answer is an obvious yes to them. But I think we should use LVE as the main starter and have Sean Lee come in on 3rd down.

Lee is much better at recognizing passes and staying in his zone than LVE. LVE can stop the run, no doubt, but his zone drops are a little rough, but they will get better with time. Also this limits Lee's playing time to lessen the chance he gets hurt again so maybe we can have him for the playoffs, if we make it.

Just my two cents.

Just pop in the tape and press play. No other reasoning needed.

Sorry general Lee but there is a youngster lurking in the shadows looking to obtain your badge.

Never thought I’d be saying this but Sean Lee getting healthy suddenly not a good thing for this Dallas defense. You simply can’t remove LVE and Jaylon from this lineup

Using the K.I.S.S. Method:
LVE is much faster and has greater range.

Lee needs to retire

Lee will play limited plays. It'll lengthen his season and career.

Lee will rotate. He needs to. There can be times where all three will line up.

That's what Lee is at this stage of his career with his injury history.

Lee should play in three-linebacker sets. LVE and Smith should play on almost all other downs, with Lee mixed in some to give them both a rest. We've got three great linebackers and we need to utilize them while limiting Lee some to try to keep him healthy.

This subject was already addressed by both Garrett and Jerry @2 weeks ago; the current starters continue to start and Lee comes off the bench.

All I know is, I never want LVE off the field. Keep things exactly the same, and bring in Lee when someone needs a breather.

This is the Romo situation all over again. Except at least this time we can rotate Lee, can't really do that with a QB

Can't take LVE off the field, don't mess with whats working

Not sure why it would be a question, simply start him on the other side SLB in place or Wilson then you have 3 best on field.

Maybe they can give Lee the snaps that have been going to Damien Wilson. Over the season Wilson has played about 27% of the defensive snaps.

Lee can play this game, and has an understanding of the game like a quarterback. Romo could not say enough things about his football knowledge.

Having him used with the other two great players, and rotating him onto the field will only go to offer a better understanding of what the offense is trying to disguise and how to be at the point of attack.

The short sightedness of fans who demand his retirement, as they are railing on Gregory this morning. And I have even seen posts asking what the team could get for Zack and Zeke. Well those posts are absurd.

Lee can offer something to this team. When he makes significant plays that have the wow factor, these comments seem to go away until he reinjures his hamstrings.

The defense played very well last night. But the defense is better with Lee on the field.

How, after this victory, there is an over reaction Friday is beyond me.

The issue though is that they play a lot of downs with only 2 LBs and an extra DB. In some games Wilson isn't on the field very often.

My guess is they will give LVE or Jaylon 1 out of 3 series off for Lee.
