for now, i will stick with the mock in my sig.........

once the smoke settles from FA signings, around the end of March, I will revise my mock for the stretch run to the draft.

I actually would like to trade our 28 for a 2nd and 3rd, but I do not see us being able to pull that one off. If we could, even better.

Also, if Ayodele is not happy about the signing of Thomas.....I would not be upset if we allowed him to seek other options, as long as we got some compensation for him.....preferably a 4th, but I would not cringe at a 5th.

I think Ayodelle is the odd man out, we're only keeping 4 I.L.b.'s and we got Burnett and Carpenter who can't go anywhere cause of the cap hit we'd have to take, so I think Ayodelle is all but done.
I like the idea of trading down at #28, depending obviously who's still on the board, because most likely a player we could get at #28 should be equivalent to someoen we could get middle round 2, and we'd pick up an extra 3rd in the process, I like the idea of trading down!

What do you think about Malcolm Kelly?
If he somehow slips to us, I think it's a no brainer, what do you think?
I really like your 5th rounder Bobbie Williams too!
I thnk Barrett is long gone by end of round 3 though because of his size and the 40 time he put up at the combine I think he's gone in round 2 easy.

So if your the D coodinator your going to tell your corners to play back since they might blow past you?

LOL, I wonder how many D-coordinators who told their corners to play UP against Jerry Rice and his 4.7 speed at the combines got FIRED when he blew past them for T.D.'s DEEP! LOL

I am not sold on OU WRs.....but then again, OU LBs are awesome in college, but turn out to be subpar in the NFL. Come to think of it, Peterson is the only OU player I know of to make a great impact since leaving OU.....everyone bashes Mack Brown and the Horns for their pro careers, but several ex Horns turn out to have very nice NFL careers.

I will say that out of all the OU WRs as of late, he is the best I have seen. I would rather draft Limas Sweed if we go WR in the 1st. Now that Moss signed with the Pats.....I hope we don't go after Walker....

I hope we don't go after Walker....

I'm actually hoping we do!

He was the #1 W.R. 4 years ago and had 89 catches for 1,382 yards 12 T.D.'s and 15.5 ypc average prior to getting injured, and that was as the #1 W.R. getting all the attention from the defense and getting the opposing teams #1 C.B. and doubled by a safety a lot of time.

He got hurt the next year and then came back the follwing year 2 years ago and had 69 catches for 1,084 yards and 8 T.D.'s still being the #1 W.R. and still not 100%, then last year he got hurt!
If HEALTHY, he can dominate, especially with coverages goign towards T.O. and Witten, which means Walker who used to consistently beat the opposing teams #1 C.B. and being double covered all day now will be going against teams #2 C.B. with no one else helping out in double coverage.

It's all about health, but he's worth the risk, any W.R. we draft is gonna take a year or two before they make an impact, which is why I want to use a #1 pick on a guy like Kelly or Sweed so in 2 years they're ready to take over as the #1 W.R., but in the meantime, a veteran who WHEN HEALTHY, a big question mark and his contract should take that into consideration, can dominate and be a huge factor in the passing game, and since like I said a rookie will take time to develop, and Walker could add another weapon to our offense and be worth the risk IMO!
your mock has Avery in round 2, which is a small SPEED GUY, imagine a healthy Walker and T.O. on the outside and Avery in the slot, be unstoppable!

Interesting draft. We all have our opinions and I'll respect yours.

If think that I'd try to grab a CB in one of the 1st 3 slots, but if your guys panned out, I guess that would be fine too. Also, Mario may be available even later than you are projecting due to his times. Again, I agree that he plays faster than he times, but he will drop nevertheless. Malcomn Kelly could be strong...though even he is not a blazer...the dude is skilled and tall.
If Felix Jones is there (I doubt it) then yes, he is nice grab too. I too lump him with CJ and Charels, but I assume he will go before them.

But with my trade down, the C.B. you'd get with the 3rd pick and our 4th pick would pretty much be the same, which is why I went with an offensive playmaker and waited on C.B., but the dropoff between our 3rd pick and 4th pick in this mock is really not much if at all.
