I moved down twice for extra picks. In doing so, I ended up with an extra 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. If only.....

20 Kenneth Grant DL | Michigan
44 Tyleik Williams DL | Ohio State
53 TreVeyon Henderson RB | Ohio State
76 Tre Harris WR | Mississippi
98 Cameron Williams OT | Texas
121 Quinn Ewers QB | Texas
122 Dorian Strong CB | Virginia Tech
174 David Walker EDGE | Central Arkansas
204 Sebastian Castro S | Iowa
211 Brashard Smith RB | SMU
224 Jordan Hancock CB | Ohio State
231 Teddye Buchanan LB | California
239 Jalin Conyers TE | Texas Tech

I have said many times IF one of my 3-4 elite targets, ( Jeanty, Membou, Graham ) don't fall to 12, this is the strategy I will pursue. Maybe not two trade downs ( not ruling it out ) but def one that gets me an extra 2nd rounder. We need starters at so many positions, I could certain still fill a huge opening at the 20/21 range.

This would be a nice draft for Dallas. I like trading down but there is no chance Dallas takes 2 DTs in the first two picks.

Every time I run a simulation when I get to the 7th round all I see are DTs on the board and some I really would want to take. But if I take DTs early, I wind up looking at drafting 4 of them (with extra picks from trades). LOL.

The only real bug I have with this draft is Buchanan and 231. I think he is long gone way before that - probably because I took him!

Would you do this ???????
Sure doesn't seem like much to add dominant player such as Carter

Grant and Williams are both 1Ts. Both are great players, but we can't get JJ to take a one 1T!
So IMHO that's not likely at all.
Landing both Henderson and Harris would be great.
Not picking a QB before late in rd 5.

I would not be upset at all with this draft.
Taking 2 DT's with their 1st 2 picks. Probably will not happen though.

With all due respect, it is ridiculous. It is clear that what needs the most help is the offense. They have no playmakers other than CD, so they need the best playmaker available, both at RB and WR (it would be good if it were at QB, since a trade is necessary). We have to understand that this team is not going to be solved in a single draft. The smartest thing to do is select the best players available in the areas of need. The ideal would be to trade down and have the possibility of selecting a combo like Golden-Omarion, or Omarion-Tre Warris/Egbuka, or stay with what you have and select Golden-Kaleb (this combo would be the one that for me has the best chance of happening), etc. but there are many risks that someone else could select any of those players before and end up with less talented players, I think the Cowboys have to be aggressive in looking for those playmaker prospects more than just filling holes, and for me TreVeyon would be a wasted pick since he has a history of injuries and I don't see him lasting in the NFL, it is almost impossible to improve the team in a single draft, at least 2 almost perfect drafts are required to lift this team, greetings.

2 1 techs at the top of the draft?

That's a position you should be able to fill later in the draft.

It’s a lot of people it’s like too big for a rookie photo

Plenty there to critique. I know the Cowboys would never do this, I just went with what I would do.

The Cowboys have the most critical need at two positions, in my opinion. This is DT and RB

The run defense is terrible. Although my first two choices play the same position, I doubled down because injuries happen, busts happen, other stuff happens and the Cowboys just seem to catch it at positions where they are at their weakest.

Besides, this is a position better served on a rotation.

I went with the WR-RB combo in the 2nd day because I want to keep all my top draft picks after their first 4 years without paying, "the largest contract for a player at that position in NFL history."
The best case scenario when drafting a skill player in the 1st round is that you will have to pay him the top contract in four years if he is highly successful.

That is self-defeating so I would build a team with 1st round picks for the O-line and defensive front -7 and get my skill players on day #2.

I would definitely make an exception for a top 5 player that slides down to the Cowboys position or a player universally recognized as "generational"

If Ashton Jeanty falls to #12 then we will regret it for the rest of our lives if the Cowboys don't take him. The same goes for Travis Hunter, Mason Graham or Abdul Carter.

However, my general philosophy is superstars don't win Super Bowls. Super teams do.

Williams has played a lot of 3T despite not being much of a pass rusher.

Me personally I am looking for defense

I like this draft and would love to get Grant and Williams. I think I would skip Ewers at 121 and try to get LB or Edge there.

Don't get me wrong I think he's a great player. He's my #1 1T in this class. I'd love to land him. He's very disruptive inside, takes on dbl teams, he's super stout against the run and I think he has some good pass rushing ability, with potential for more.
But, with Osa being here under a new contract, he'd either be a 1T for us or he'd be used on limited snaps. This org doesn't ever want to spend top picks on DT's so I just don't see them taking 2 in the first 2 rds. Especially if they draft Grant in rd 1.
I'd rather have Williams but I wouldn't complain about taking Grant.

Or when they do use top picks for DTs they reach, such as Mazi and Hill

I don't think they'd ever take 2 in the first 2 rds, but I absolutely think they should take one of those guys if they get the chance. This team has ignored (or wasted picks on inferior) 1Ts for waaay too long. They need to take a good one when they get he chance. Waiting til the later rds is just more of the same, taking one just to take one.

The question is why would the Giants do this? Maybe they believe the 49ers will be bad this year and will be drafting in the top 15 next year?

In any case, if I was the GM of the Cowboys I would not make this trade with the Giants even to get Carter. I wouldn't do it if I was SF either. Both teams need to retool and it will take more than 1 draft. SF will dip into free agency though so draft picks are not quite as important to them as they are to Dallas.

BTW, if the Giants takes this trade and wind up with 2 good first round picks next year, then maybe drafting Sanders is not the smartest move. For them it might be better to draft a position player and wait to see what the QB class looks like in 2026. With 2 first round picks maybe they can move up next year and take a better QB in next year's draft.

This is just my take........I don't think for a second, the Giants are drafting Shedure, certainly not at 3. The coach AND GM are fighting for their jobs ( both were almost fired after last season). They struck out against Stafford and Rogers before signing Wilson. Hell, they offered Stafford $50M. That doesn't sound a team planing to draft a QB with the 3rd overall pick. But they are honoring the process, saying all the right things they could still draft a QB even after signing Wilson and Winston. I see them drafting Carter or Hunter or trading down a bit and picking up an extra 2026 1st.
