Guys:

All we can do is guess because we don't know all the facts (injuries, character problems etc.). Also, I'm assuming that we get Jones. So if we get Jones the number one need is running back. This can be argued but at WR we may get Glenn back and we have at least one potential developmental number 1 WR (Stanback). So here goes:

-22: Felix Jones (best fit as complement for Barber). Note: take Stewart if he falls due to toe injury.

-28: Sweed, if his health checks out. (Best fit as #1 receiver, has size, speed, hands and hard worker). If he's not there look to trade down unless Kelly is there and his health checks out. This is where fustration sets in because we have no idea whether these guys are healthy. If neither guy is there or healthy, look to trade down.

General comment: I know we still need a cornerback, but I don't think one of the potential shutdown cornerbacks (there are maybe three) will fall to us. The other proven guys are more cover two type guys and I think we are looking for a press guy. I think we gamble a bit in round two or three with a great athlete that needs refinement (King or Porter) or a guy like Cason.

General comment two: I think the reason Goose if fairly accurate with his final Mock is he doesn't try to figure it out. He just calls general managers and goes by what they say. Then all the stuff we don't know about (such as DRC having only one kidney) is all factored in.

Note: if we don't get Jones, then all bets are off because we need another cornerback that can play this year. We may have to package a move up to get one of the three top cornerbacks. I don't think we can go into the season with Henry and Ball as two of our top three cornerbacks. Possible trade up to get Jenkins (character issues) or DRC due to kidney issues.

Hard to say...but if, let's say, a 3-4 NT like a Hampton, Wilfork, Williams ends up being on the board at #22, if Wade and Jerry end up taking him, I won't be dissapointed. But that's IF.

I Dont think its smart to pay a back up, like Jones would be, first round money. If Stewart drops than I'd be ok cuz he's a primary back, we could use him as trade bait or he can even replace MB3 if we dont want to pay him. I'd go with a back in the second round. Ther are plenty of backs in this draft. I Like Chris Johnson, Jamal Charles and Ray Rice in the second.

I would be OK with sweed, only if DevinThomas and Kelly were gone. Desaun Jackson intrigues me but I dont think he can be a #1 reciever.

My pics would be:

22: Malcom Kelly/Devin Thomas
28: Antoine Cason/ Mike Jenkins- If none of the top CB's are on the board, I think we should trade out of the first round, pick up one of those backs I talked about, my preference would be Johnson. Then with our other 2nd get a guy like Tracy Porter or Charles Godfrey.

If RB and WR is what you want, then trade one of the 1st round picks and pick Chris Johnson in the early 2nd. He is a good value there and a true compliment to Barber and can help in the return game.

I keep running through various scenarios, and I keep looking at Stewart at 22 and Sweed at 28. That's just the way it looks to me at the moment...

If the team is scared off by Stewart's injury, Felix Jones would be the obvious guy to take. And at #28, I think Jerry will be looking to deal or get the best receiver he can. At the moment, that feels like Sweed, but who knows what will happen on that day.
