My Snap Judgements

Our Boys played better than I expected. Remember we’re playing with a back-up QB with an “interim” coach. Some of this may be stating the obvious, most is my opinion, but here’s what I got:

- Brooking at this point is a fossil of a LB - Lee needs to play all downs
- RW always seems to have that surprised look on his face and it’s usually when something goes wrong. I like RW and we could use him in the long run but serious contract restructuring is needed for him to stay
- I love Witten, Mr. Consistent
- I’m not missing Barber but I miss the Barbarian
- Bennett is not a winner – he doesn't have the “it” factor, seems he's in the wrong place, wrong time and most always wrong outcome
- Choice is hard pressed to get in the end zone, no matter how close
- Felix is good - he can be REALLY good
- Our DBs have trouble knowing when to play line coverage, especially when the 1st down is less than 5 yards away
- Miles who...come on, seriously??
- Garret has won me over - getting a flat-lining team with a back-up QB to immediately turn it around and contend with the best of them is impressive

That’s my initial thoughts

I think garrett needs a serious OC that wont listen to him, i hate garrett and his short plays.

And why can anyone explain to me, that dallas when it needs a first down will always try to shoot for less?

We had that with Romo and better oline play. Last year we almost always went deep.

Agreed. I like JG, want him to be our HC next year. But he routinely calls routes that aren't past the first down marker.

I think we're gonna be ok next year.

The defense has enough pieces, IMO. We need a solid coach that can get the most out of our talent.

I think we'll contend next season.

Agree with pretty much everything except Bennett. He is a solid #2 te imo.

I agree mostly everything you said......

- Lee the future and needs all the playing time he can get
- RW cost us 2 big plays, not sure this guy go full speed or what you see is full speed? ROy slip on the INT and possible TD was a game changer... He good enough for the team 3 WR but not worth the money he getting. Could be use somewhere else.... Maybe a DT or shutdown CB
- Witten, not sure anymore? The guys still can catch, but his blocking and breaking tackes just horrible
- Barber should been cut 2 years ago..
- Bennett the better blocker than Witten by far and tough as nail to bring down, but not sure it the coaching not fitting him in more or maybe it the IT factor
- Choice the best back on the team, have all the tools but some reason he not like by the coaching staff
- Felix is good but great in SPACE
- Our DBs just bad!!!!! Jenkins above average but NEWMAN have to go for the money he getting.... Newman never around the ball
- Miles just don't have it with Kitna, maybe the lost of DEZ played a roll... IMO
- Garret haven't won me over yet? He doing a good job and deserve a chance but did Wade go 13-3 in his first year? I still don't see this team dominate in any areas? that offenisive look bad today, and didn't even try to throw downfield to push the Secondary back
- DT and CB a priority in the offseason..... Need to beef that D-Line up to stop the run and a true shutdown Corner that take half the field away,

In my opinion, I think Garrett can be a good head coach in this league. However, I think at the same time that we need a fresh start all the way around when it comes to the coaching staff.

I want people like Dave Campo off of my team, no matter what. Give me Jon Gruden to be the head man and let him bring in Marvin Lewis to run the D.

I know we have serious serious problems personnel wise and that's obviously the main reason we are where we are, but I just think that this team needs new blood in here to coach. Bring in a young, proven, tough, aggressive guy like Gruden in here. Give him an entire offseason and draft and I guarantee this team would be on the right track.

Anyway, that's what kept going through my mind while watching the ballgame tonight.

Also:

Fellas, you can't give up a 91 yard touchdown pass in a tie game in the 4th quarter, or at any point in the game for that matter. I mean where was everybody?? I don't think I have ever seen such poor saftey play in my life.

Eleven months after dominating the trenches against virtually the same team, they come in here and dominate us. There's just no excuse....

The bottomline: We are just terrible! We invent new ways to lose ballgames to a extent that I have never thought was even possible. It really is amazing that alot of us were really excited about our Defense before the season started. That unit is a joke.

Thats all I've got.

My snap judgement is that without Dez the opposition has a much easier time game planning and covering. He stretches a defense and puts fear into the secondary. He is the difference between the O being really good to barely above average. He opens alot of things up, and special teams takes a huge step back without him.

Roy Williams sucked tonight... He let Kitna down a few times tonight. Miles Austin needs to work on concentration in the offseason.

Miles needs to work on catching the football instead of catching whatever Kim K has...

good stuff....and after reading and thinking about your post, combined with the team's Dfensive performance, there's no excuse for what we've seen.

The entire team has gotten tighter (less penalties, not giving up, etc) but the Dfense has been a free-for-all. The problem appears to be the backfield because we did get a fair amount of pressure on Vick. In any event, it was on Garret's watch but I'm hearing you that serious coordinators are needed on this team

Redzone offense has been a problem under Garrett (be it coaching, personnel or a bad combination of the two), but the problems Dallas has had inside the 5 this season can be fixed w/ better Oline play (or players)

Miles has never had soft hands.

He is a T.O. clone only without the attitude and egocentricism.

Agree 100%...he also lacks some of the talent but that's neither here nor there

Yep.

There were reasons why he was undrafted.

He's worked his butt off to get where he is, but needs to work a little harder on catching the ball.

Brooking at this point is a fossil of a LB - true

RW always seems to have that surprised look on his face and it’s usually when something goes wrong. -

What I do wrong I better that Irvin ever was - but but it only took me 2 years to get on the same page as Romo
then he has pooo eating grin on his face

Choice is hard pressed to get in the end zone, no matter how close - is a JAG

Barber should been cut 2 years ago - true

Bennett is not a winner - needs to gone IMO

Miles just don't have it with Kitna - agree he has it with Romo
