Did your curriculum include wrestling your freshman year at West Point? Mine did at the Academy...no one scored on me for the course.
I agree, his Son looks to be aggressive on the mats. Good share.

He was second in the state, lost in the finals 4-3. Was 4th last year. We have 3 classes, our school is in 2A. He beat the 1A Champion (who was Fargo National Champion in greco last year) and the 3A Champion who was nationally ranked as well as the defending 2A champion who was also nationally ranked during the season. He took a couple trips but decided he just wants to focus on school.
Emmitt was awesome. Deion is from our area and he talked about how good Deion was....funny hearing the all time rushing leader talking about another athlete and being in awe. Told the story about how Dallas was playing the Giants around 96 and we were beating them bad so many of the starters were pulled. Kevin Mathis was playing Deion's spot and got burned about 3 times in a row on the same pass....Deion was yelling at him what was coming and he kept giving up completions....so Deion pulled him off the field and said watch this. QB apparently didn't see the switch and tried it again and Deion housed it.

Sounds like the 1998 Monday night football game against the Giants that Garrett started. Deion put on a show that night for sure.

I remember that game vividly. Deion was something to watch. Arguably best ever at the position.

That's great.
So much respect for great HS wrestlers, btw. It's the toughest high school sport, by a country mile, and everyone I've ever met who's worked hard enough to be elite at the sport is a great kid, pretty much by virtue of the respect they have for hard work.

His memory was a bit off, he said Jets and 1996 but pretty clearly was the Giants game.
Said that he had a big game in high school and got interviewed a lot by the local media and stuff and got caught up in the "I" game....next day in practice they were doing some live drills. First play, the coach had the OL fall down and let the defense crush Emmitt. Told him to never forget that it takes a team for an individual to have success. Stuck with him to this day.
Another thing he said about Deion that I have never heard is that he was really a tireless worker, watched a lot of film, was a mentor to a lot of players and knew what other teams were going to do. He would be calling out routes based on formation and WR positioning. He said everyone just thought Deion was physically better than anyone but that only gets you so far, he was still a student of the game.
