I think we will have four TEs on the roster with the new two TE set as the base offense. FS is still a hole darnit!

I wouldn't be surprised to see them scrap Polite altogether and add that last guard from Tech.

Jones has been saying over and over and over we will have 4 TE's, why would you put 3????

Pretty good but I wouldn't count out Beriault and Ratliffe. Polite won't make the team as we will keep a 4th TE instead of a FB.

The OL from TxTech (Whitley) will make the team before the red-headed twin (Pat M).
Pat is a project and will be on the practice squad.
Whitley is a three-year starter for a top 25 team and can play every position.

- Polite.
+ Another TE
- One of the NG
+ Ratliff
- McQuisten (practice squad)
+ Colombo

FS still a "hole"?

Ourlads had Watkins the 4th best overall FS.

Hmm.

Peterman is a LG.

Al Johnson's got the starting job. With his bulking up I doubt he loses it. Gurode backs up C and RG.

He'll be Roy's backup @ SS and we'll be 3 deep @ FS with Pile being the odd man out...

Our offensive line scares the hell out of me! Everything else looks great, but I fear the Oline will be our achilles heel.

I think Singleton is gone. Thornton might not make it either. I thought Boiman was playing SOLB? If so, he'll back up Carpenter. Ryan Fowler will backup one of the inside positions.
Backup lb's will be a nice battle with Shanle, Fowler, Singleton, and Thornton playing for likely two spots.

This from Mickey:

The Cowboys do think they can get son help from Columbo. They feel like he is really coming along.

Looks like he has a inside shot and making the 53.

If that is the case I'm really scared of what would happen if Flozell went down again. If the O-line stays healthy though, that's a team that could seriously contend, especially that front 7.

QB Beldoe, Romo, Henson

RB Jones, Barber, Thompson

FB --

TE Witten, Fasano, Hannam, Peirce/Ryan

WR Owens, Copper
Glenn, Crayton, Green

OL Adams, Columbo
Kosier,
Johnson, Gurode
Rivera, Mquistan/Whitley
Fabini, Pettiti

DE Spears, Hatcher, Coleman/Ratliff
NT Ferguson, Stanley, Johnson
DE Ellis, Canty

OLB Carpenter, Singleton
ILB James, Boiman
ILB Adoyle, Scott/Fowler
OLB Ware, Burnett

CB Newman, Glenn
CB Henry, Reeves, Jones

FS Coleman, Watkins
SS Williams, Davis, Berry-O/Pile

Last cuts are LB and Oline Peterson, Thornton, Fowler or Ryan

Will Bill keep 9 OL and 8DL or 10OL and 7DL or we he go light in both and keep a 9th backer?

It looks like we keep 5 safeties this yr

I dunno why not.

They competed with Tucker and Petitti at Tackle.

I would have to think they'll compete with Fabini and Petitt/Columbo at Tackle.

Plus we didn't have TO last year or a TE corp that wasn't anywhere near as talented as this one.

I seem to recall last year's crappy line led this Cowboy offense to the 2nd most passing yards in history.

I agree.

TO changes everything. Not just his individual play but how he frees up Glenn. Having another pass catching threat at TE makes a difference as well. Campbell simply could not run and was not a threat beyond 5-7 yds. Fasano changes that.

All we need from the OLine is average play. I think they're capable of that. And still, even with all the OLine struggles last season, the only game we couldn't overcome them and compete was the 1 game @ Wahington. We'll be just fine...
