I am sure some of you think, I am not a Cowboys fan, since I am more of a pessimist rather than an optimist when it comes to our beloved Dallas Cowboys, but I have to say, I came away from the game more of an optimist at the moment.

A break down of what I observed:

Qb:

Romo
I am not a huge fan of Romo, I really was not for the contract extension, but what was the other option? A few things I am not a fan of. I really do not like, 80% of the time being in shot gun formation. It suggests we are passing all the time. What is with this new "Pistol" offense? I do not like it. I will say, not too many times, did Romo let the clock go down to 0sec before he hiked the ball. I got really scared when Orton came in. I really thought he broke his collar bone with that hit.

RB:
I think we saw Tanner a few times, which I would of preferred to see Randle, but then again I do not want Romo to get killed. As for Murray, the knock on him, is that he runs to contact rather than looking for daylight. A few plays, I actually saw him running for daylight. He was nice in the passing game as well.

WR:

I REALLY liked what I saw from Austin. I do not want to jinx anything, but that will be a nice WR corps, if he stays healthy. Dez was getting doubled, which is fine, I just hope he can understand that, and not let it get into his head. Williams, and a few nice passes go his way, only to drop them. I think he is going to be a solid #2 at some point, maybe like an Alvin Harper but a tad better. Harris is so so, in my books. Runs like a RB, but plays WR.

TE:
Witten looked good, not much more to say. I was all for the Escobar pick, since I think it is a good idea to have two good TE's on the team, but I am regretting that pick a tad, maybe if he were a 3rd or 4th rounder, it would be a little better. Hanna, is looking solid.

OL:

I was fine with Fredrick being picked where he was picked, I was just mad that we passed up a certain player to do so. But, I will say I am EXCITED that Fredrick is on the team, boy is he good! Smith seemed to get pushed around a few times, I hope he is still dealing with a learning curve. Leary was avg to solid, as for the other two, I am just glad Waters was signed.

DL:
Ware did not show up in the stat like, like we all want, but it might be more of that his presence did for the players around him. Selvia did a good job, not really worried about Spencer coming back atm. I think in the Tampa-2, you can just plug and play with the DL.

LB:
Carter and Lee are just amazing! Durant played fairly well too.

CB:
IT seemed like either in the 3rd or 4th quarter, Eli was just targeting Carr, and he was getting burned other than that, he was solid. I have a feeling Mo is going to last another few weeks then go on IR to get his shoulder fixed. He seems fragile, and I hope this doesn't happen. When he went out, I was not happy, since I think Jerry kept 4 total CBs. I still do not like Scandrick, and Webb played pretty well.

S:

I was wrong about Church, but I still think Will Allen is a stopgap, and this position needs to be addressed.

I think all in all, it was a good game, I hope the Cowboys continue to play as they did. I still think 8-8 on the season. I think once there is tape on the defense, offenses will figure out how to play Dallas.
