This has prolly been said as nauseum, but I want to put in my two cents.

Our offense looks awesome! Romo is the real deal. He out dueled a scary good Eli Manning last night. It looks like he has undone all that Parcell's throwing motion stuff and gone back to what come naturally, which is his 3/4 motion. He is quick on the release and accurate. HE makes tacklers miss and knows where his receivers are.

Early in the game, it looked to me like TO broke the wrong way on some routes. Romo looked as if he was expecting an out, or a curl, and TO went the other way. They made the adjustments at half time and all was good. TO made some great catches. Crayton and Hurd made us relax about Glenn being hurt, and Witten proved that opposing defenses have their hands full.

Defensively, we are in serious trouble. Reeves was picked on all night. The whole league saw that you can split the seam between Reeves and Williams all night long. Roy looked horrible in coverge. The Giants didn't even bother throwing at Henry. Maybe Eli is that good, but I think that we need Newman back fast.

Hamlin is not an improvement over Watkins. He was nowhere to be found on the Giants first touchdonw pass. Did I say that Roy is horrible in coverage?

James and Ayodele were ineffective in the middle. The Giants ran all night right up the gut. Maybe that was Fergie being out, but it looked to me James was waiting for the back to come to him instead of attacking the hole. James also blew some coverage last night. I think Burnett or Carp may get more playing time.

Spencer and Ware had pressure all night. Both were just a step from numerous sacks. Spencer did okay in run support with no major screw ups that I can remember. Ellis better suit up quick before he becomes irrelavent.

All in all, this team can go far on the offense it showed. If the defense steps up, this team can win it all.

That's what they said about Buffalo in '92.

I do not think the Pats offense is any better than ours ..... and I trust Wade to fix the D before the year is up.

The first game of the season is meaningless. Either of these teams (Dallas or NE) lose next week and they are 1-1. Let's wait and see what happens the next several weeks before betting money on the Super Bowl participants.

The way I see it, the Dallas offense played exceptionally well but they will have a hard time putting up 35 points consistently every week. On the other hand, the defense did not play so well but I doubt they will give up 35 points every week.

Things will settle down over the next few weeks and then we will be able to have a better understanding of how good this team really is.

Jim Kelly is not Tom Brady....Brady and that team would have hung 50 on us last night AND we would have never come close to putting 45 up against them...luckily we play them this year so we can accurately gauge where we are...but right now we are not in their league

The worst thing about last night was the tackling. It seemed like they got an extra 3-5 yards after the tackler made first contact. The tackling was embarrassing. You must give credit to the Giants offensive line. They did an incredible job last night. Some want to hang some of the defensive line for lack of pressure, but the only bad I give them is tackling.

Brady is great. That I will give ya. But our QB ain't too bad himself. If our D steps it up, this team has the tools to beat any team in the league.

We definately need Newman back, and Roy Williams has to make a commitment to play coverage. I don't think we are going to miss Glenn as much as we thought. Offensively we can compete with the Pats.

Actually Fort Henry was abused just as bad as Reeves the 1st TD catch by Buress was henry getting burnt like Toast.

Several big 1st down throws on 3rd and long where allowed by toast master Henry

Henry was burnt toast last night he played no better and Manning picked on both CB's with ease

Neither teams played defense last night, so IMO their offensive dominance needs to be taken with a grain of salt. They are a good offense, but great? Not sure yet.

After Glenn went down I was really looking forward to seeing Crayton and Hurd. I don't have the talent beer googles that most cowboy fans seems to have for Parcell's prospects, but I really like both of those WRs. Crayton is by far the most polished and would be a good #2 on many teams, but I really think he excells as a #3 guy. He is so solid in most of the things WRs do that I can see him being consistently effective vs. a 3rd CB. Hurd's TD was personally gratifying as I have loved this kid's game for a while now. He has been my reason for watching the pre-season. He has real potential to become a #2 in time.

I was actually somewhat optimistic about our defense. NY has two pro bowl caliber WRs. I though Reeves was overmatched but had a couple good plays in spite of that. I think he looked like a #3 CB. Very promising when Newman returns.

Spencer was a real highlight of this game for me. Someone predicted he would combine with Ware for 25 sacks this year. I had thought at the time "Maybe if Ware gets 20-22..." Now I am kind of thinking he could be dead on. Ware 15, spencer 10? Not too far fetched when Newman returns.

Run defense looks poor, but this may be more like Indy's D --- designed to protect a lead by stopping the pass first.

Differnece is, we lost our interior presence in Jason Ferguson for the year. They are getting Seymore back.

I think Wade can improve the pass rush when Newman returns. But the problem is Ratliff will get worn down. He did okay when he came in, but the Giants had alot of success running up the middle as the game went on. That's not a good thing. We really need to find someone to plug that hole, or it could be a long year.

I dunno-maybe Remi and Bowen will come in with the rotation? We could be alright here.

.

Did you see why? Another receiver broke left for an out and Hamlin went with him. I don't know whose man was whose, but that's why Hamlin was no where to be seen.

I don't see our offense slowing down any time soon. With Witten and TO on the field, and Witten being a TE, he makes things tough for double teaming TO, and you HAVE to double team TO, I don't think no one man can consistantly cover TO 1 on 1.

Witten is running deep routes, much deeper than he's done in his career here from what I've seen, and this disrupts the safety's protection. Unless they have a LB that can seriously run and cover Witten, teams won't stop both parties.

Hamlin wasn't all world, but he was much more involved in a ton of plays, although RW did make an impressive stop on the big QB to end their drive.
