Some here blame Tony for our debacle this year and in the last few years . I for one don't see that at all.

When Tony Romo was signed by the Dallas Cowboys in 2003 and attended the 2003 NFL scouting Combine. Tony went undrafted in 2003.

Instead he signed as anundrafted rookie free agent.
Eventually, Romo took over the starting quarterback role for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2006 season

He came from a small College, (Eastern Illinois University) to the most popular and recognized National Football Team in the World.THE DALLAS COWBOYS:starspin:starspin:starspin

The pressure of notoriety and fame for a small country kid to the highest and most pressure job in the NFL had to be a tough thing to adjust too.

The press everywhere he went, reported on everything he did, all the dates he had, had to be overwhelming and hard to adjust too.

I believe he did and is doing a great job at it.

Just think if we let him go to another team that hasn't got the stars and glitter and the microscopic press of the Dallas Cowboys ( AMERICA'S TEAM ) :starspin

I believe we would rue the day we let him go , I think he would be more relaxed in a quieter setting, with less press and less scrutiny ,and become one of the top five QB's in the league, and possibly come back to haunt us.

Tony's not the problem with this team. For all the turnovers he has, he still is always up there as one of the top QB's in the league with his numbers.

Sure he has to learn to take care of the ball and hold back on the gunslinger mentality a bit ,but to let him go to another team at this time would just plain dumb.

Sorry for the rant but I had to vent.;)

Or you can shrink wrap everything you just said and put a label on it that says "Get a better offensive line" and we'll see what he's really made of.

Tony Romo is a good quarterback. I just think he needed a younger Bill Parcells or Dan Reeves, a coach who was hard nosed and knew how to keep his quarterback out of trouble and away from mistakes while he matured.

Tony really never had the benefit of that or only shortly when Bill was here. Once Bill left, Jerry Jones - he who loves flash and dash - hired Jason Garrett, a former player and coach in training, who would cater the offense more toward Romo, enabling him to produce gaudy stats but never allow him the comfort of not having the offense fall on his shoulders.

Romo needs to be protected with a running game, and JG is just not that committed to a running game like, say, the Commanders are who, regardless whether the first few carries don't yield big yardage, will continue to run the football until it works.

For Romo to thrive, I think this team needs a coach more committed to the run than the pass. Unfortunately, I doubt Jerry Jones buys into the concept of a boring offense..

he already is top 5 in the league.

If all players in the league were released into a draft pool, many cowboys fans would be shocked at how fast Romo went.

Dont read most of the garbage on this board from people that want to bash him.

Romo isnt going anywhere. We are not drafting a QB. Romo will be here for years to come. If some of these fans cant stand the idea of that then they better just find another team to follow. Jerry isnt a stupid man. He isnt getting rid of romo no matter what some may say.

I don't think people necessarily want to draft a QB to replace Romo at the top of the 1st round. They just feel that for where we're picking it's the only thing worth the spot and will give him time to develop before taking over for Romo.

Tony's only problem is his supporting cast. I am sorry but you can put Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and any other QB you wish on this team and our seasons would still have ended in disappointment.

Sure, his skill players are fine enough.

Now lets talk OL and a defense that can get you out of jams every now and then but also create havoc (turnovers) and thus more opportunities for the offense. Not to mention a shorted field every now and then.

Any QB we take now won't see the field until he's at or near 30.

The play he got hurt on just shows how bigtime of a QB he is.

First off, we aren't letting one of the top QBs in the league go anywhere. However I wouldn't be so sure that Tony will re-sign with this team. He may very well be sick of the crap here and there are MUCH better teams in the league that are a Romo away from the SB. The likes of the Vikings, Dolphins are at the top of the list.

This is what is so funny about cowboys fans. Read any thread on Logan Mankins or any all pro O Lineman and you will see so many fans say "only if the price is right". They are so concerned about a top free agents contract yet then they want to draft a QB early in the 1st round and pay him 60-70 million to sit on the bench for the next few years. How in the world does this make sense at all?

Lets pass on proven all pro players in position of great need and draft a risky player of zero need and pay him 60 million to sit on the bench for years.

We have some smart fans dont we?

How about we shore up the line and the front seven on defense, rather than trying to fix the few pieces that ain't broken...

I don't think we are getting rid of Romo anytime soon. Jerry can be an idiot at times but he isn't insane.

Romo would take a team like the Cardinals to the Superbowl...

For all the Romo bashers, you are fixing to see what life is like without him.

The days of 400+ yards a game are long gone my friends, we will be dam lucky to get half of that on a weekly basis.

Maybe a 3-13 season will make Romo a little more appreciated around here.

That's the logic I believe they're using though. They're not saying to punt Romo to the curb.

We'd have to be idiots not to have seen already what Romo's made of.

Romo's the man, plain and simple. Despite all the crap going wrong with the team this year, he's the NFC's highest rated passer.

Anti-Romo Cowboys fans really must've forgotten what it's like to feel hopeless about our QB/offense. I remember when drives felt hopeless if we started inside our own 30. I remember when 3rd and 10 felt hopeless. Nowadays I almost EXPECT for us to convert on 3rd and 10 as long as the OL gives Romo time and nobody commits a penalty.

I think if you can give him ample time he could do even more. You don't?

What Romo has accomplished behind THAT line is incredible and I'm not sure there is a QB in the league that could have done better.
