In advance, sorry for spelling and other things.

1. First thing, i went from Friday to Monday and saw them in Full pads twice. Practices were boring and repetitive. very little hitting going on. Twice saw them with just helmets. Shells every other time. Hard to tell who was standing out in O-line and D-line. Camp "cupcake" seemed stupid at first but there might be something to it.

2. TO led the NFL in drops last year and led the camp in drops while I was there. I love TO and was looking for him to just tear it up, but he was dropping balls in warm ups and in practice. One day he dropped 3 balls during practice and Tony stopped throwing his way. That led to TO pouting and walking his way back to the huddle after every play. But, when he did catch the ball, wow, he can fly.

3. Tony was up and down. But for the most part good. He impressed me. I think he will do really well this year.

4. Jason Witten is gonna have a break-out year. Mark it down. By far Tony's favorite receiver. Watch it.

5. Sam Hurd is a player, always making impressive catches and being consistent. He is a player.

6. Crayton is the most consistent receiver. plain and simple.

7. Miles was OK. didn't stand out. Made some catches, always hustled.

8. I really liked Urban. At first I was like, i don't know who he is and i don't care he wont make the team, to saying wow, who is he. don't think he will beat out our guys but, we'll see.

9. Bradie James is lighter, faster and flying around the ball. i was really impressed. More than anyone, Bradie James stood out. He picked off Romo at the goaline on a good play.

10. Brad Johnson is horrible. I'd rather have Vinny T. back there after what I saw. He either got sacked, threw the ball away, threw a bad pass or dumped it off to a RB or TE. It sounds like I'm over exaggerating but I'm not. he was awful. If Tony goes down, we are going down.

11. The pass rush was awesome. Always bringing pressure from inside, outside, making the QB force things or move around. They got plenty off would be sacks. Awesome.

12. Julius looks the same, so does MB3. They looked good. Jackie Battle is pushing hard to make this team. Its gonna be tough to choose between him and Tyson. Whoever does better in the preseason will get the spot. He has MB3 power with J's speed. His vision isn't there nor his agility, but I liked what I saw.

13. I didn't see Spencer do much, nor the O-line. It was tough watching them in shells. Jay Ratliff did stand out.

14. Not really important but Nate Jones can hit. He isn't afraid of big TE's or Rb.

15. None of the DB's stood out. Courtney Brown got toasted a couple of times, as did Anthony Henry. T-New looked good. Didn't see Roy or Hamlin or Watkins do much. I like what i saw from Keith Davis. Looks better at SS.

Godo stuff. Thank you.

Did you have fun?

I really did, I was like a little kid the first two days. Just in awe that these were my Dallas Cowboys that I live and die with every year. Then i started getting competitive and looking for some action, trying to see it like a GM, but i was disappointed in that aspect. But it was awesome.

I just walked in the hotel door from Tuesday afternoon practice, and thought I'd parrot off some of the things you stated... and disagree a couple of times ;)

I went Saturday and today, and both practices were in jerseys and helmets. Today I felt like I was watching a carbon copy of the Saturday practice.

I didn't see TO drop one ball today. he dropped a couple saturday, but Crayton dropped the most that I saw. Surprising to me.

3. Tony was up and down. But for the most part good. He impressed me. I think he will do really well this year.

4. Jason Witten is gonna have a break-out year. Mark it down. By far Tony's favorite receiver. Watch it.

ditto

6. Crayton is the most consistent receiver. plain and simple.
I didn't get to see that.

7. Miles was OK. didn't stand out. Made some catches, always hustled.
What impressed me about Austin was that he was all over the field. He is in on most of the special teams stuff. He seemed to really work to get open, and I didn't see him drop a ball either.

8. I really liked Urban. At first I was like, i don't know who he is and i don't care he wont make the team, to saying wow, who is he. don't think he will beat out our guys but, we'll see.
I thought Urban was good. But I was more impressed with Jamel Richardson. Made a lot of great fingertip catches.

And today, Stanback came out in his jersey, so I got all excited thinking he was gonna practice... but no. he did run some routes, and he seemed to be going full bore and making quick cuts. I have yet to see him catch a ball, but there's no doubt he has speed and quicks.

Urban's gonna be the odd man out, I'm afraid.

9. Bradie James is lighter, faster and flying around the ball. i was really impressed. More than anyone, Bradie James stood out. He picked off Romo at the goaline on a good play.
I know what play you're talking about, Saturday afternoon. Set off a series of celebrations with the first team D. He seemed to be better in coverage, but still lagging behind Witten a couple of times.

Brad threw one good pass downfield that I saw, but it was with no secondary. Today he threw a 12 yard out that floated, and Courtney Brown picked him off. Brown was the safety, and jumped it. The corner was right there also. Awful.

11. The pass rush was awesome. Always bringing pressure from inside, outside, making the QB force things or move around. They got plenty off would be sacks. Awesome.
It always seemed that they were bringing more guys than could be blocked. Last year we didn't see a whole lot of that. And there were good holes for the blitzes. I hope that's a good sign for our D rather than a bad sign for the OL. Brown was in there on some blitzes from the FS position. A lot of mixing it up.

I really liked all the RBs. Battle and Tyson both looked good. i came away leaning toward Battle, but I don't think Tyson ever got to showcase his speed.

13. I didn't see Spencer do much, nor the O-line. It was tough watching them in shells. Jay Ratliff did stand out.

14. Not really important but Nate Jones can hit. He isn't afraid of big TE's or Rb.
I saw Spencer get in there a couple of times, but overall I wasn't too impressed. A lot of the time when I'm watching without consciously looking for people, I just notice who I see around the ball, and I didn't see much of Spencer.

And I didn't get to see ANY hitting :(

15. None of the DB's stood out. Courtney Brown got toasted a couple of times, as did Anthony Henry. T-New looked good. Didn't see Roy or Hamlin or Watkins do much. I like what i saw from Keith Davis. Looks better at SS.
I really thought Brown was impressive. He got to blitz a little, made a couple of picks, and seemed to be playing the FS position pretty well.

TNew dropped a INT that hit him right in the hands. It was funny because the crowd started hooting at him, and he immediately fell to the ground and pumped out 10 push-ups. The crowd then cheered. He didn't really fall to the ground, more like jumped... could tell it hurt him to drop it.

he's already broke out...when you are clearly one of the top 4 or 5 overall TE's in the game, you arnt "breaking out" now...

his yds per catch and total TD's will definitely go up...he was basically ignored in the redzone by Parcells/Sporano offenses, he wont be now

I think you're 100% correct on this.

I noticed year 2 or 3 of Parcells' era, Romo coming in, 2nd qtr of a preseason game behind ____, he dropped 3-4 quick plays to Jason, a couple as an apparent safety-valve, and it made me hope.

Thanks guys, both of you. When I hear you all talk about the blitzes, i'm thinking that Wade is like a kid in a candy store with all these weapons in the front 7.

I really really do hope the secondary can become solid (not necessarily great) but solid.

Thanks for the info.

I'm rather surprised with all the drops by TO, I thought he would eliminate the dropsies once he got his finger healed, I just hope that it doesn't carry over to regular season.

I just hope we never have to use B. Johnson, his weak arm is a recipe for lot of ints, all of his experiences doesn't matter if he can't throw the ball.

I have Witten on one of my teams. He didn't do much for me last season, but I have a feeling he'll be a monster this year. Fasano too.

Our Backup QB situation is a MAJOR issue....Brad Johnson is washed up.
