The dude was open. The ball just wasn't getting there consistently. You throw to Dez when he's open.
He finally was open when they stopped just running him up and down the sidelines like vrs NYG in game 1.............

exactly 14 targets for Dez...and this was the worst "coached" game of the year to this point...coming out of the bye makes no sense at all...they are lucky to get the W last night imo
Yup, other teams will bring pressure like Philly did until the coaching staff give Dak the hot receivers and pressure release like screens, slants etc...........Philly showed them the way to slow him down, but its all part of the learning process of any NFL QB...................and coaching staff :)

This whole we forced Dez the ball thing is silly. Dak missed open guys all around. And on most of his throws...regardless who he was throwing the ball to he was off. If he was accurate Dez has 200 yard night and we win more comfortably.
Dak and Dez have not built a strong chemistry as of yet. Dak's anticipation is not so great - possibly why he has been so conservative. With Dez, you just need to get the ball to him and let him do work, just because he looks covered means nothing.

Please stop with this narrative that Carson Wentz is a project starter.
You can love Dak without slamming Wentz. Wentz is going to be a very, very good quarterback. Dak did well, but he has more weapons on offense than Wentz does.
This rivalry may be like Brady-Peyton for the next decade.

I think he did force the ball to Dez, but I think it was more mental on Dak's part having to think he had to get the ball to Dez. But you are correct. There were times when Dez was open, but Dak couldn't get him the ball.

I did notice that the times the camera was on Dak, he seemed to be sweating an awful lot. I wonder if anyone else caught that? My interpretation that he was feeling the pressure, and I'm not talking just about the Eagles' pass rush. I think he was nervous throughout the game and, finally, settled down on the last drive in the fourth quarter and in overtime.

The two TDs that Dallas scored in regulation were a direct result of Dak going to Dez.
He beat his man on the outside and Dak dropped a nice one in there right before the first TD
He made a ridiculously could catch for the 2nd TD--literally reaching in front of and over the defender and pulling it in
If you give the man single coverage, and actually get the ball into his catching radius, he will make plays for you.

Your record is what it is, unless you disagree with parcells

Yep...he pretty much played like dog **** until OT...and that's not on the coaches or the play calling like some want to believe. That was a rookie QB facing more pressure than he had ever seen and not quite knowing how to react. No knock on him at all...he is what he is: a rookie finding his way. But to try to blame his poor play on the coaches and play calling is simply being blind to the reality of what was. I'm just thankful he got it together in OT. Huge props to him in that final period!

Yep. Dak threw the ball to Beasley, Williams, Witten and Butler in the first half, he just went 0-for-5 with an INT throwing to those guys. If he completes most of those passes, as he usually had, nobody would be talking about them being "ignored" early in the game. And we would have converted for more first downs, sustaining drives and giving them a chance to get more targets and giving Elliott a chance to carry the ball more. If you don't complete those passes and don't pick up first downs, everyone seems like they get "ignored."

.

An Egals forum would be a more appropriate venue if you want to gush over Wentz.

It was clear we spent most of the game trying to be clever instead of sticking to what got us there in the first place.
I mean this isn't true. When you have a QB who can't hit wide open guys....how do you put that on play calling? For instance on his INT in the redzone Beasely came wide open on a simple pick/rub play. He threw inside, late and behind our receiver. But yes let's blame "trying to be cute" for Dak missing a wide open Beasely in the endzone on a single move. It should have been his 2nd read after looking for Dez.

I didn't see much forcing the ball to Dez, maybe once or twice at most. What I did see? The lack of slants, drags, screens and crossing routes to get him out in the open. I love seeing him blazing across the middle

There is nothing that hurts the run game like not converting 3rd downs. And a 60 yarder taken off the board hurt his numbers
It's amazing how when we complete passes on 3rd down we have a better run game. Could be those other 3 downs it gets you

Still love the way Dak pulled the Romo turnaround on the last play. We should've did the victory formation just before the last snap hahaha
