There are 2 problems i think that will keep this team from going to a SB this yr.

1. 3tech, while alot here talk about the 1tech and a big fat sloppy guy is needed, thats not the problem. The 3 tech is what makes the front 7 work. The mike is designed to be hidden by the 3tech. Thats not happening so it literally takes out the production and/or playmaking of the the mike. Think Dallas was counting on Crawford to take over the starting 3tech spot once Quinn became available. Theyre stuck with Collins who is avg as a passrushing DT and a little better than avg vs the run. And thats the best they got. But he's so inconsistent that nobody notices his good plays because his bad plays outnumber the good by alot.

This team has 25mil in cap room right now, i have no idea how they dont make a move on a one yr deal for guys like Wilkerson, or McClain. Maybe just maybe the Jones' are telling JG this is what you got make it work or youre out.

2. SS, Jeff Heath is bad as a starting SS. He was so much better playing in sub packages where he came in when the defense needed him doing things he does good. BUt instead they have him playing full time where his weakness are known league wide. They played a replay focusing in on Wentz first TD pass to the TE and it showed just how bad Heath was at recognizing the play and how late he was that he left Vander Esch out to dry. Vander was in perfect position on the under but Heath was nowhere to found over the top. Again i think this is the Jones' seeing if JG can get his guys to correct this mess. And its not looking good.

Last week i was watching a video on youtube of Cowherd talking about he know for certain that Lincoln Riley is going to be the next Cowboys HC. When pressed by his guest on how he knew he side stepped the question but just kept saying there is nobody else from what he was being told. He didnt know when it would happen but said if Dallas doesnt win this yr its probably happening in the offseason. Ended that segment by just saying there is nobody else, its Lincoln Rileys job. Now who knows whats what, but ive never seen him so sure about a topic. Riley is a great coach for a QB, IMO its just time for another guy to take the reigns.

You can see Elliot starting to get his stride back, aswell as the power he have seen. This this bye week will freshen him up a bit too. Pollard is a nice compliment but those of you who think he needs a bigger role need to stop. He isnt half of a Elliot, and never will be. Yes pollard can come in and give the defense a different type of guy to look at. But, your silly if he scares the defense. Of course they have to account for him hes on the field, but they dont have to gameplan for him the way they have to with Elliot.

What a difference it was to have Tyron and Collins back on the edge for Dallas. Even a 70% tyron is better then a 100% Fleming. But Collins played a fantastic game. Tyron had some penalties that came because he had limitations because of the injury but Collins was great sunday night. Another guy who played very good was Connor Williams. He had a couple plays that were bad but he handled Fletcher Cox all night. The few plays where he made plays were on Martin. But we have seen that over Martins career. Cox just seems to get the better of him hen he matchup.

Jaylon Smith stepped it up and did damage sunday. Even more after Vander left the game. Smith was all over the field and in coverage. He punished anybody who went over the middle. And the RBs in the flats. He is becoming a leader by action.

Richard is a problem. ON sunday night they exposed his secondary setup aswell. He leaves Byron Jones in Man from the offenses left hash to the sideline. From the left hash to the right sideline he plays zone. And Collinsworth showed how easy it was for teams to get first downs in 3rd and long situations. Doing this by simply running routes to the right hash and taking a TEon a slant to the left, and he says it works so easily because there is nobody covering the TE because from the left hash to the right sideline everybody is on zone and Jones is occupied in man from the left hash to the left sideline. He said it happens over and over every week.

Richard is set in his ways and seems to have a Rex and Ron Ryan attitude in thinking theyre way works and nobody can tell them different. Hopefully he gets offered a HC job if JG is back, cause he needs to go.

everything is good for the FO. everything is starting late, playoffs will keep fans saying "if this happens, the Earth tilts this way and if the northern winds go south, we are in baby"

I don't know why Crawford gets so much hate on here. We will miss him on the dline. We really need to make a trade for a DT or two before the deadline. If they don't, then I'll take it as a sign they're not serious about winning. Saquon and Cook are coming up after the bye.....

They dont need to trade for one. Wilkerson and McClain arent pro bowlers but theyre alot better then what Dallas has. They can work very good with Lawrence and Quinn on the edge.

Single high safety makes it very hard for the safety to be effective if the pass rush allows the QB to buy time on throws that cover the field.

It's pick your poison, do you help with the seam route when you think your CB is getting beat over the top, then the QB decides nope I have time I'll wait and throw it across the field to my fast TE.

On that TD if I'm remembering correctly Heath was anticipating a throw over the top to a WR and had to react to the pass going in the completely opposite direction.

Defensive tackle will not only help the coverage, but it'll help the run defense and pass rush. Fix the dline first and go from there

NO Heaths responsibility was the TE when he crossed into his zone. This was a classic case of trying to cheat on the play. The QB played him perfectly because he knew Heath cheats which is why these plays work consistently on him. Did you not even read or hear what Darnold said about the tendencies of the single high play in Dallas?

No, only referring to what I watched in the game as it happened. I'm not dismissing Heaths decision, simply stating that letting receivers run full sprint down the field and having no pressure on the QB is going to make life harder for any safety. Do you trust your CB or your linebacker more based on what was playing out on the eagles TD? Regardless of whatever safety we have back there a lot of those opportunities would never happen if we could get a collapse of the pocket by the interior more than once a game.

They are going to give Justin Hamilton a good look during the buy week and roll with him and covington at the 1Tech with Collins and Hill at the 3 or maybe hyder there too.

Wrong. When Collins is healthy, they prefer him as the starter over Crawford.

It is the WLB that should be "covered" by the 3-tech according to Marinelli himself.

Collins has to play too many snaps now that Crawford is out.

The problem is that they didn't detect how significant the health issues were for Crawford when he was on PUP all preseason.

McClain was on the street, signed by KC to 2 games then cut.

Wilkerson is not even playing this year.

Wrong.

I created a video of the analysis by Collinsworth. He did not blame Heath. His explanation should tell you why Heath couldn't move over earlier which is because he was in zone coverage and another player was set to run past Jaylon.

Cowherd has to sell people on watching his show. The Cowboys and rumors like Riley as the Cowboys HC sells.

You can see Elliot starting to get his stride back, aswell as the power he have seen. This this bye week will freshen him up a bit too.
Zeke looked much quicker just from the Jets game to the Eagles game. It's hard to explain.

Wrong.

In the Jets game Zeke played 75 snaps and looked sluggish. Pollard only played 7 snaps.

In the Eagles game Zeke played 55 snaps and looked quick and energetic. Pollard played 20 snaps.

Tyron in a body cast would be better than Fleming.

Another guy who played very good was Connor Williams. He had a couple plays that were bad but he handled Fletcher Cox all night. The few plays where he made plays were on Martin. But we have seen that over Martins career. Cox just seems to get the better of him hen he matchup.
On what plays do you think Cox "got the better of" Martin?
- I just watched all of the snaps by Fletcher Cox in that game and Martin owned him.

Connor Williams played well but the best play by Cox was with CW blocking him.
- Cox was able to get close enough to Dak to knock the ball out of Dak's hands.

Jaylon Smith stepped it up and did damage sunday. Even more after Vander left the game. Smith was all over the field and in coverage. He punished anybody who went over the middle. And the RBs in the flats. He is becoming a leader by action.
- Sean Lee was great replacing LVE.

The Eagles scored 10 points in the game.
- The Eagles averaged 26.8 points per game in the previous games this season
- That exact play does not happen every week.

Richard is set in his ways and seems to have a Rex and Ron Ryan attitude in thinking theyre way works and nobody can tell them different. Hopefully he gets offered a HC job if JG is back, cause he needs to go.
The coverage scheme is so much better now than it was before Richard arrived that it's comical to look back at the previous scheme.

Richard has been putting players in more difficult coverage situations
because he is doing multiple things to cheat against the run at the expense of coverage.
- He is doing that because Marinelli's DL scheme struggles against the run.
- Only 1 team really used zone run blocking back when Marinelli was becoming entrenched as an NFL DL coach.
- Now his DL scheme struggles because of zone blocking.
- Richard can't retool Marinelli's DL scheme on the fly. He is having to implement work-arounds.

- Richard is the best coach the Cowboys have had since OL coach Bill Callahan.

Rest....that’s about it for me. When Dallas plays starters they do fairly well, and when missing pieces,go to pieces. Getting comfortable thinking you’ve arrived too is something that should be on their minds...that’s my moto to the team over bye.

I don't know why Crawford gets so much hate on here. We will miss him on the dline. We really need to make a trade for a DT or two before the deadline. If they don't, then I'll take it as a sign they're not serious about winning. Saquon and Cook are coming up after the bye.....

right. Crawford was a Swiss Army knife for us.

1. 3tech, while alot here talk about the 1tech and a big fat sloppy guy is needed, thats not the problem. The 3 tech is what makes the front 7 work. The mike is designed to be hidden by the 3tech. ....Xwalker, you know yer stuff bro. Good to have you on the Foras...;)...

LVE starting in a Kris Richard scheme is my only issue with our defense IMO.

A coupla semi-interesting things at the bye...

• Dallas is putting the #1 offense and the #5 defense on the field, the only team with both in the top five, yet the team is 4-3 with a loss to the Jets. Stats rarely tell the whole story.

• Dak is third in the League in passing yards, averaging 8.9 YPA while completing 70.8% of his passes to guys who've drop the second most balls on the season.
