I do have us winning too, but we can't take this one lightly. Can just waltz in expecting to win. I want the defence showing the same energy they had against the Browns.
Zim is no beginner, he'll get the defense in the right frame of mind, and our young OL will be just a little more experienced than they were against the Browns. I think our guys are gonna be hungry! Go get 'em Cowboys!

Freaky...get a room!

Thank you, I would watch for that too. Normally, I like to have the ball to start the second half, but this might be a team, at this point of the season while the defence is still learning the Zim system, where we might want the ball first if we get the choice.
I think they should always want the ball first. I think they should always have the mindset of attack, and that this is “our” game and it’s all day.

I have a slideshow I present my new hires joining my company and a quote I love that we discuss is “the reason we start to feel pressure is because we start to think about failure.” I think the Cowboys now and at playoff time need to be in attack mode. You don’t turn that on in the playoffs, you do it from the start. Take the ball first, kick some arse, and kick some more arse all day.

The only time they cut loose is when they are down by multiple touchdowns and the pressure is off.

We see them get their lead in the last game, and go into a shell. The mentality lasts a whole season. If they struggle early, they struggle to get back on track. They need to start with a different mentality.

I agree Rusty I think we got the talent to get this job done we need to get at least a hundred yards rushing limit penalties manage the clock properly and shut their run game down.

Make Derek Carr have to beat us through the air I'm liking zim's more consistent and control defense and I think we can get it done.
Just cause we beat Cleveland on the road we can't go into this game over confident and take it lightly or will get blown out
- Same with what we did vs Watson ... same with Derek Darr ... make him one dimensional .take away their RBs and come
after Carr...

- Don't beat ourselves with killer turnovers and penaties.. .

- Expect a 66-71 yd FG from Aubrey at home, indoors, zero in great field condition

Here is my thought....

If McCarthy could get this team as energized for the postseason as he can for the regular season then the Cowboys would be champions and McCarthy would be the freakin' Coach of the Year.

As soon as the regular season is over, the Cowboys need to hire a hypnotist capable of convincing the Cowboys that it is not mid-January, it's the beginning of September.

Good post!
The Saints reminds me of what we say about the two college football teams in Mississippi back in 80s and 90s. On any even Saturday they could beat a top-ranked team or lose to a Division II or III team. In other words, you never know with the Saints, especially if they are playing at the Superdome but we have them at home. I like our chances.......

Oh, I would imagine. I'm excited to see what he's cooking up for the Saints.

I was more remembering the playoff game. The Saints have a similar style to the Packers in that they like to lean on their backs, and they have a solid QB and a good group of WRs. We should want the ball so that we can set the tone early instead of them.

Keys to the game are the same against all non elite QBs

1. Play physical and disciplined defense
2. Minimize penalties
3. No turnovers
4. Run the ball
5. On ST: no missed FGs and play field position

Do these and you win most games against non elite QBs

Just curious ........how is this different for elite QBs?

I think Allen is a very good coach. Underestimated in my opinion. NO has a stout defense and it looks like their offense got revved up last week. They are a borderline playoff team. Clearly Dallas on the road is a big step up in competition for them but I hope Dallas doesn’t sleep on them. We know the Cowboys are capable of throwing in clunkers.

Elite QBs have their particular strengths so these basic principles of course apply but there are additional things you have to do to disrupt them like creating pressure

Eg: if you these things against Dak or Hurts you are likely to beat them but if you do these against Mahomes or Brady they still beat you.

JMO, feel free to disagree
