My thoughts... mostly coaching

this is a poorly coached team.... that has to be evident by now

our team is on fire against the Carolinas of the league, but when it comes to winning a game that really means something to us, they come out flat.

while the other team comes out fired up for every single thing that goes right, our team comes out flat and acts like "if we just score a td, we will be back in this thing".

I liked the 3-4 when it was instituted, but not our version of the 3-4. The 3-4 version that the Cowboys run is a containment style 3-4 and does little to put pressure on opposing offenses. This defense is not setup with many stunts, multiple blitzing formations, disguised blitzes, and zone defenses like that Pittsburgh runs, You can call our defense a watereddown version of Pittsburgh's 3-4. In this aspect, our defense is way outcoached.

I like our offense. I think our defense needs work though. Is this coaching maybe... but to go back to 4-3 which we know can be a very good defense, we would have to get more Def. linemen.

I do believe a lot of our problem with this defense, which is a quality group of guys, is in the coaching. I think Zimmer is too gun shy.

I agree to some extent although the coaches don't coach the team to drop balls (see Owens and Glenn tonight), to miss blocks near the goal line, to throw INTs etc.

It is a combination.

i thought the deep pass on 1st from the 50 (INT) was a stupid call but this loss again was on the players, not coaches.

to drops a perfectly thrown ball which spirals the rest of the game and brings the D right back on the field.
