My thoughts on LeBron joining the Heat

It's not why he did it, though you can argue he taking easier way to get championship versus other players who stuck with their team.

It's the whole media circus and his request to do the ESPN special. He never will be Jordan nor even Kobe.

The people in Cleveland should of known he was bolting all along. His favorite teams are the Bulls, Cowboys and Yankees. You cant expect a front runner like that to stay home just cause.

Did you record that during an earthquake, or was the person holding the camera having a seizure?

no i didn't record it during an earthquake. :laugh1:

also i was trying to keep my arm steady while holding the camera. i must admit, it's not an easy thing to do.

It doesn't bother me at all who he picked. The guy wants to win and that doesn't bug me at all. I do agree that it could have happened without all this media circus around the decision and all that stuff but that's the nature of sports anymore.

The fact that the guy is taking less money (even though he'll still make huge money) and wants to win championships, and apparently doesn't mind not being the man, or the superstar, on the team in order to get the ring(s) isn't something I'm going to knock him for.

Championships > all other accolades and achievements in sports

I believe with the sign and trade he ended up getting the max..

Oh? I heard on the radio yesterday that he left 30 million on the table by going to Miami instead of staying in Cleveland.

why would there be a sign and trade for picks? I thought any sign and trades would be for players to move salaries. Why would Miami trade picks for free agents that are..... well free?

You'd have to ask the Heat. Probably to pacify LeBron to enable him to get the max salary. It's no secret around these parts on the lengths one must go to pacify LeBron.

Sign-n-trades gives MIA the opportunity to sign Bosh & James to longer deals and the teams they came from gets a Traded Player Exception which gives them extra cap space...

Keep in mind with there is no state income tax in Florida. He knew what he was doing.

They can all opt out after the 2013-2014 season and have another free agent circus if they choose.

Even with 6 year deals?

I absolutely LOVE basketball but I don't have a favorite team. I live in AZ and cheer for the Suns but I'm not heartbroken if they lose like I am with the Cowboys. It's not that rare of a thing..

I'm the same way with basketball. It's just not as deep-rooted in American minds as football is.

I like to say that if I were to ever play professionally, to play for any team other than the Cowboys would be heartbreaking for me. To play for different teams in the NBA wouldn't bother me so much.
