Here are my thoughts on pacman and what i would do.
If he does get reinstated, say this year, and the cowboys trade for him. I think he will be good for the first 2-3 years, but as soon as that contract runs out, remember now he did say he would probably peek his head back in a strip club.
So, what i would do is, trade for him, let him play, unless he shows a big change, and let him help you win a super bowl maybe 2, then that 3rd or 4th year i would trade him, he would have value, maybe big value for trade value.
One thing to remember Newman, and i love him as a cowboy player, but he will be 30 this year, and that only allows him to be playing 3 years at the most. So, you dont want to be paying him a super big contract and have to eat it by time he is too old to play.
So, if you can work out a deal with newman with some guaranteed money and then back end of contract where he would never see it, that would allow you to have
Newman, PacMan Jones Roy William, your high draft pick like Cromatie or jenkins, a devastating coverage backfield,
then in 3 years or so, when newman does get to old to cover, etc, you can trade pacman for high draft choices, if he does play and stay out of trouble; and recoup your defensive backfield.
Dont get me wrong, i wish pacman would grow up and stay out of trouble, but when he says in 4 years or so he will peek his head in a strip club, eventually he will get in trouble again, and we or the dallas cowboys dont need that then, Now, if he straigtens himself out, and says he should have never said that etc, then maybe change my mind but until then, i say trade for him, because if he stays out of trouble, returns punts and kickoffs for touchdowns etc, and has some major interceptions, etc, then his trade value would be outstanding, and he would be like 27, just same age that asante samuel went to phily this year, so you should be able to get value for him and get some pretty big draft choices.
just my opinion, joe
