I didnt get to see it, so what did he do??Just relieved we did not take McKinley. That scene he pulled was embarrassing.

from what I gather JG and Marinelli liked taco , but not watt.Passing on Watt for Taco was crazy to me... hopefully someone earned their paycheck and knows something
Link?his nickname with scouts was "soft taco" because he took off long stretches of plays. Personally, I would take guy with relentless motor to get to QB and would had gone with Watt.
IM going to toot my own horn for a minute lol. I said just a couple days ago the guys it seemed they were looking at first were Takkarist and Taco. And how ATL jumped Dallas and who wound up in Dallas i think it was dead on.
I keep telling this forum listen and read what the owners say and pay attention to these first visits. Because thats pretty much the priority of their board. This team is probably the only honest franchise in sports these days. They do what they say and stay on that line. The same approach they take with their players is the same approach they take with their business side and scouting.
Getting to Taco, i hear alot about how he's slow off the snap and his 40 time. Im sorry but you people have absolutely no clue on what ur talking about. Charlton is very quick off the snap and you see that when his job is to just go after the QB. But Michigan plays the read react with the weakside. Meaning he's going to read the RB or QB depending if the RB is on the opposite side before going in. Its called containing the edge. He's raw with 1 yr starting, but he has moves on moves already. With what Dallas has and what they want to do, he was the right guy for this team. NO tweener type that Dallas has but a legit DE with the skills to get after the QB.
Watch this and you see just how disruptive he is from both sides
My first reaction was to be critical but after some reflection, I remembered that we had only 18 guys rated as first round players on our board. We had to pick someone and that person was not going to be rated as a first round guy.
Hopefully he can play a lot. He does not have a twitch, like the guys at NFL network said, but as a rotation guy, he might be able to hit thr QB.

So could be they got the player marinelli wanted.
yeah I looked at a hl reel and he is smallish. He should probably be a linebacker.I think they liked Watts ability to rush the passer, but he was too small to be an every down DE. He wouldn't hold up to the run or be able to avoid injury playing DE every down at his current size. He might eventually get there, but if he could he probably would already be there with his work ethic.
Link? I saw where a bunch of idiot Ohio State fans were calling him that simply because he was an Ohio kid and went to Michigan. I'm sure they changed their tune after this year.
Taco had 2.5 sacks and 9 tackles against Ohio State in their 2016 matchup, If Ohio State fans called Taco anything, it should have been "Sir".
Can I like this a million times?Yeah bro, toot that horn: http://cowboyszone.com/threads/list-of-most-likely-to-be-picked-at-28.376957/#post-7308243
Which liquor store guy told you that one ?his nickname with scouts was "soft taco" because he took off long stretches of plays. Personally, I would take guy with relentless motor to get to QB and would had gone with Watt.
Actually we could have drafted the player that was still on our board that carried a first round grade.
We could say hey we are throwing darts over here to pick our players, it's just the draft. It makes about as much sense as going off our board.
I Hope Taco turns into a stud player. But our own teams evaluation says he isn't a first round player, so we admit we reached on the pick.
I think that Dallas told some of the media at some point that they had 3 DE's with first round grades. They also said to the media last night that there was one corner left with a first round grade. There may be more info since I looked, but from what I've seen so far, I'm not sure I believe that story. It seems that the Cowboys media guys (Broaddus and minions) took what Stephen said and added their own take on it.
Or DaddyTaco had 2.5 sacks and 9 tackles against Ohio State in their 2016 matchup, If Ohio State fans called Taco anything, it should have been "Sir".
How the draft fell was a huge part of this. There are so many good CBs left that it's almost silly. There are only a few good DEs left.I think that Dallas told some of the media at some point that they had 3 DE's with first round grades. They also said to the media last night that there was one corner left with a first round grade.
So... the media figured that Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, and Derek Barnett were the 3 first round DE's. Meaning Taco was not rated in their top 18.
At that point, logic says they took a round 2 guy with a round 1 guy still left.
Still, your point from last night that it was likely a case of (for instance) the CB being ranked 17th and Taco being ranked 19th is logical and is sound decision making. The difference in their grade would be small indeed and would dictate taking the position that you thought would be depleted most by pick 60.
I have no real problem with what the team did.
Correct. Which is why I'm not worried about the CB being slightly higher rated than Charlton, even though I'm a BPA guy.How the draft fell was a huge part of this. There are so many good CBs left that it's almost silly. There are only a few good DEs left.
