First let me say this was a division game and it wasn't pretty but learning how to win without Romo is a great start.

Dak......Major props, he looks like a vet out there. Some passes are high but haven't seen him make a throw to give opponents a chance to pick it off. He is smart, poise and has great vision. A few times he almost got away from the rush and was a shoe string tackle away a few times of getting out of a sack. Like that he tries to get rid of the ball instead of taking a sack but think that could lead to fumbles the way he does it. Very pleased with his performance.

Zeke looked much better today, the OL blocked much better to. They did give up 4 sacks but in short yardage situations forced their will on Washington front 7. That TD run by Zeke was beautiful how they pushed Washington back until the endzone.

Dez was back, like that the coaches moved him around and threw slants. Beasley and Witten kept the chains moving. Beasley with one of the biggest catches for a first down on last drive for the win. Without that catch we ate kicking a FG and Morris doesn't get that chance for TD.

Swaim played very well. Loved his huge block on the Witten run and catch.

Secondary was better. Claiborne is really starting to come on. Church with a huge interception in the endzone. Jones with a great tackle on a busted coverage a few plays before that.

LBs were terrible but Lee made a great play in the clutch and Durant had a great pass knock down on 4th down.

DL made a few plays and sometimes inches from getting a sack. 2 more games and D Law will be back....not sure what to expect from Gregory when he comes back. Jack Crawford has non stop motor.

It's great to get the win. Especially without Romo, hopefully we carry this into next week cause we beat Commanders last year without Romo. We weren't perfect today but good enough to win. I give defense credit for making the stops when needed. Offense improved and started getting TDs in the redzone. I think we will improve again next week as we improved from last week to today

Any RB who has two fumbles did not look good by definition in my book. I believe EE will get there, but he's got a lot of work to do.
So with all the fumbles Murray had but so rushed for over 1800 yards and double digit TDs weren't good.

I agree you can't fumble, but he is a rookie and I see no reason it will be a problem. And yes Zeke looked better this game even with the fumbles.

The first fumble looked like a fluke to me. He had both hands on the ball and Norman hit it perfect. The 2nd there isn't an excuse as it looked like he ran into the pile and just lost it. Lucky we recovered (thanks to Free). RBs will fumble or make mistakes, the issue becomes does he correct it or is it a every game thing? We shall see next week, if he does fumble next week then I think it's becoming an issue.

Zeke isn't going to get close to 1800 yards. He doesn't have that in his back pocket.

I understand your point, but I'm still haunted by the playoffs against Green Bay where he was set to easily hit his head against the goal post had he not fumbled. More than the Dez catch, maybe.

Maybe.

I agree, Murray had a fumbling issue. Zeke hasn't fumbled until today and we won. Glad we did and he has to have better ball security but let's not get carried away with benching him

We have no idea what he will run. He scored a TD today, had over 80 yards rushing and we win the game. Only if he continues to fumble is it a problem
He's got roughly 130 years with 14 games left. No way will he hit 1800.

130 years? What? Do you mean 130 yards?

So your saying Zeke can't average 130 yards? I don't think he hits 1800 either but that's not the point. We have no idea what he does until the end of the season. I'm more interested in scoring points like TDs then yards. That's how you win games

I like how Claiborne played today, he attacked !!!

Yeah, fumbles were a problem for Murray, too, and a primary reason why I didn't want him resigned. Fluke or no, if you're a RB, you have to hold onto the ball. If somebody's trying to get their helmet on it, you can't let them do it. You definitely can't let a CB rabbit-punch the ball out of a two-arm grip. It just can't happen.

I agree, but I'm not going to over react either. Zeke hasn't shown am issue with fumbling. It will be something to keep a eye on though being is only 2 games in

Crawford is a great guy to have on your line. He is a guy who find a way to be productive. Dont know of he is an every down player, but he is a solid performer

As a player, Zeke's historically done a great job hanging onto the ball. I'm not worried long term for him, either. But today he fumbled it twice. That's a bad day.

Autocorrect and vodka. You know I meant yards. Two fumbles in a game is inexcusable, unless somehow you are breaking every Cowboys rushing record, which he will not.

He has the record for scoring a rushing TD in his first 2 games

There are several types of fumbles.

1. The ball carrier is being careless and it gets knocked out of his hands.

2. The ball carrier is protecting the ball but the defense makes a play.

They sound almost the same, but they are not. In traffic an inadvertent elbow or forearm to the careless grip can cause a fumble. Shame on the running back.

But even protecting the ball can still offer a defender to make a play.

Not saying Zeke's fumbles are one or the other or both. Just saying in the Green Bay game Murray had a semi truck sized hole and the defender made a play.
