Romo had another solid game. He got away with a few bad throws, but he still had a really good game. The Dolphins secondary had a really rough day. TO seemed to be open on most plays. Crayton looked good before the finger injury, and Hurd had some clutch catches. The PI call on Hurd was ridiculous. Witten had some clutch catches and did a great job blocking. Great plays by Zack Thomas kept him from having another great receiving day. Zack Thomas was a beast out there and was one of the few bright spots on Miami's defense. Marion Barber was unstoppable. When asked to block, he was leveling linebackers. His blocking reminds me a lot of Emmitt Smith. Julius Jones didn't have a great rushing day, but did have a clutch reception and did a nice job blocking. Aside from some inopportune penalties, the offensive line had another excellent performance. The line opened up running lanes for Barber and neutralized the Dolphins pass rush. Flozell Adams dominated Jason Taylor. The fullbacks did a nice job blocking, but were non-existant as receivers.
On defense, Jay Ratliff is holding his own. He does a great job on passing downs getting pressure on the quarterback and is a liability against the run. The Dolphins were able to exploit the middle of the defense on running plays. Canty had a sack at the end of the game. I don't remember Spears name called too many times tonight. He just seems to be there. Bradie James surprisingly had a very good day. I believe he is finally figuring out the 3-4 defense. Ayodele didn't seem to make many plays tonight. Ware and Spencer both had decent games. The pass rush forced Green into some bad throws. The secondary did a fine job. The interceptions in the second half prevented any chance of a comeback by Miami. Both Reeves and Henry had great games. Miami wasn't able to isolate RW on a receiver and didn't have a TE who could beat him. Hamlin seems to be a great pickup for us.
Overall, I think the team moved the ball well against a very good defense and shut down a bad offense. Once the Dolphins got behind, Trent Green tried to force the ball to his receivers. I hope the team can get an early lead on Chicago. I'd love to see Grossman put in the same position that Green was in.
The Dolphins seemed to think that Henry was the weaker of the two cornerbacks, since they picked on him more than Reeves. This strategy backfired on them.
