Guys:
After taking some time to recover, these are my opinions:
We are a pretty good team with good potential, but we have weak areas that must be addressed. The running game is not consistant (don't know why) and the overall offensive game plan needs work. Thirteen points is not going to consistantly win. The defense shows good potential, but I am concerned about Glenn and RW in coverage (all three Washington big plays were against Glenn). Bottom Line: We won a game we should have lost and lost a game we should have won. Right now I think we are an 8-8 team.
Some suggestions:
Get Burnet on the field as soon as possible (we need more athletic linebackers).
Move Glenn inside or replace him with Reeves. Don't leave him isolated on the outside against fast receivers (teams will be coming after him).
Integrate Price into the offense to generate more big plays and take some of the pressure off Jones.
Get Thompson more involved, the current backup running back has no explosion.
The current punt returner lacks speed, consider using Newman as a change up.
Throw the ball downfield a little more to loosen up the defense.
Note: I think the Cowboys are moving in the right direction in most areas, but it takes time.
