Don't post on here much but I read the zone daily. I know that we have fans that want Romo gone and we have fans that say stick with him. I think that Romo is a very good, not great, QB. He seems to be in sort of a slump this year for whatever reason. I think if Jerry brought in a new coach and a new QB coach that may be just what Romo needs. He needs someone that knows how to play call and teach him to be more disciplined on the field. I think he needs to be as far away from Garrett as possible. Romo has the talent, he just needs a better teacher. The guy tries to do too much and it gets him in trouble. I just don't want to give up on Romo simply because he hasn't had a good coach or maybe QB coach since he's been playing. You can't tell me that someone similar to Gruden couldn't work with Romo and make him a great QB. I think we should keep Romo and bring in a real coach to help him with his gunslinging style..What do you think?

a better teacher, he's 32, time for teaching is over,,you can't teach an old dog new tricks, Romo is too much of a backyard gunslinger of a quarterback to succeed in this league consistantly, you need to protect the football not throw it up for grabs...Romo may be on the decline and I certainly wouldn't give him a new contract extension with two years left on his deal but I'd be looking hard for the future quarterback because that future may be just two short years away...

Romo is only 32 and hasn't been playing a very long time. I just think that he needs a better supporting cast. I know how hard it is to find a good QB and we have one that just needs better coaching...

You, sir...are right. I look at Russell Wilson today who was 16-24 for 173 and 3 TD's. I can't even imagine Romo throwing the ball only 24 times. Good defense and great running game make all the difference.

By the way Romo is 13-26 when he throws over 36 times in a game. Watch for that tonight although without Murray it doesn't look good to stay under that.

I've never heard anything of Romo working with his receivers in the offseason like Peyton Manning or Aaron Rogers etc.

He's made arrangements to meet them, but they get lost on their way there.

That is real talk. Jason Garrett was a back up for his whole career and so was Wilson and beyond that they have little coaching experience which shows up in games. I believe Orton would be a more precise passer with more zip than Romo but what Romo has is the ability to keep a play alive. I don't blame Romo because of the play calls, I feel like Jason Garrett doesn't do what benefit the team, he does what benefit his playbook which is passing and the running plays he do call be stupid for the runningbacks he calling them for. For example, why would Jason call a delay play knowing your O-Line don't know how to block for that long? That is like a passing play because it's a certain pace that defensive line got in there and delaying it cause them to get in there and stop the Cowboys. Week in and Week out Jason Garrett fails to run the football which would save him the defense and his job. Run all three runningbacks not just your speed backs. Another thing, Jason Garrett is so predictable, he runs with Tanner on 3rd and 1, instead of doing the play action pass like I wanted him to. They was line-up like they was expecting run.

I believe the ball should be ran or it should be a change at Quarterback because Kyle Orton has more zip on his passes then Romo do. Romo have too much air on the ball when he throw making it possible to pick off. Look at Manning, Brady, Newton, Ryan, Griffin, and even Luck when they throw the ball to a receiver, it's directly to the wide receiver, not under the wide receivcer or over the wide receiver head. Romo did hurt us at certain points in the game which makes me doubt his ability to get us there but in all reality it's kind of like an illusion because the fact is Romo can win a super bowl, but Cowboys need coaches around him that is going to develop him and the rest of this team to get the fullest potential out of them. Why not Gruden? But you still have to get certain pieces around Romo like an offensive line, first of all, the Cowboys need to sign a center, second the Cowboys need to put Dockery in for Livings. Vickers is 50/50. When I look at Vickers on certain key plays like the Tanner run on third down, I say to myself we miss Fiamatti. I see certain pieces means something to this team in key moments and a whole lot of players don't have it along with the coach that really is the key to blame for this catastrophe, he lack running the football, when Cowboys get their backs against the wall a little bit he gets away from the run, matter of fact he don't even start the game off running which he should make a priority to do atleast 5 games straight.

Garrett needs to be more balance and change the pattern of the play calls but still remaining balance, at the same time but call running plays to benefit the running back not your playbook, we have to play each player strength and not weakness.

For example, doing delay plays with Felix Jones bothers me, especially with Romo telegraphing the play as it is, and with the offensive line playing the way they do, cause for the opposing team with an below average or above defensive line to imposed havoc on running game, just for Garrett could tell us as the fans that the running wasn't effective. The running game isn't going to be effective with Vickers as a fullback missing blocks on 3rd and 1 which should be a play action pass to the second tight end for a first down, instead we get stuffed.

I mean to be honest with you overall, I believe if Jerry Jones wants Garrett to stay, he should get rid of Romo because he's not going to work in this system. I believe that drop on third down by Miles Austin came from Romo overthrowing the ball to open receivers which they have to adjust to make the catch, if that was Kyle Orton it would have been there on the money, if it wasn't it would have been Miles faught if he dropped a drilled pass.

Every time the offense implodes with a bad play the frowning look on Romo's face says it all. Romo knows that he's mostly surrounded by football-idiots.

Agreed. And I use to be a believer in Romo, defended him to no end, but he's done. It doesn't help that we have an incompetent head coach and legions of fans who make excuses for the guy either

I think Romo has taken too many hits behind some putrid lines the last few years. Couldnt help but notice he had a serious case of happy feet tonight and the rush wasnt that bad. Not too mention a non existant running game.

Noticed this too. Looked pretty jittery out there with no pressure in his face...

can you blame him because i sure don't.

The Cowboys need to hit the reset button on everything including Romo. I want to see him go somewhere else and succeed though. I know he's a really good player, but he's never going to do anything of note in Dallas.

I'm a newly converted Romo "hater". I think we've seen the best out him. He's regressing. There isn't enough time left in his career to really reteach him. I think he's already been over-taught to a certain extent. He's not running when he should. He's playing conservative. I get a feeling from this team that they are going through the motions.

He's simply not worth his cap hit now. Kyle Orton is not even close to as good. He's serviceable and more importantly much, much cheaper. I don't see any reason to make any changes this season, but I would not mind moving on and using that cap space to bring in some veteran leadership on the lines. Build a real foundation to then go after the next franchise QB that's basically needed to compete for a title.

The problems with Romo is Garrett. Notice that Garrett would call conservative plays in each of the games. Then when we fall behind he lets Romo try and catchup.

Evident to Garrett's playcalling was when Romo went with a no huddle which basically ignored Garrett's playcalling. We scored a TD in less than 2 minutes. Now where the hell was that offense?

Even Chris Collinsworth called Garrett out with some of his questionable playcalling. If Romo was allowed to make big plays and throw it deep like he used to then we would have a better offense. Its Garrett thats holding us back and Orton isn't going to fix this problem anytime soon.

Honestly, and I say this without reservation, I cannot wait until the guy moves on, retire, whatever. I can think of a few other players as well. This team needs to be blown up. Starting with the GM on down. The culture of the team will not change as long as you have the same management and players in place. Call it bad luck, jinx, weakness, whatever. I am ready for this nightmare to end.

He isn't regressing he is running for his life. You would too if took the same beating he has over the years. I'd hate to see what we would look like on offense without his ability to create unbelievable plays with very large men chasing him down all game.
