My thoughts/opinions how this franchise should move forward!

We have seen this core together for 4 seasons and they probably have reached it's peak. They just aren't good enough from the players down to the coaches and front office. It's time for a reset, but not a full rebuild as the Cowboys just don't do that!

Coaching

-Fire the entire staff and target a veteran, discipilinary Head Coach. Time to move on from those so called "player coaches". As I wrote in yesterday's post, my 3 targets would be Bellicheck, Harbaugh and Vrabel. Pete Carroll is also another to consider. Change the culture, more accountability, more mental toughness, more physicality mentality.
-Allow whomever is hired to review the roster and have the power (never happen) on the final say on the veteran players like Dak, Tyron, Zak, DLaw, etc.
-Try to convince the front office that they cannot just draft/develop to roster build, must use fa/trade market as well.

Roster

-It's all about overhauling the trenches. Must figure out how to successful run the football again. Have to move away from all the undersized players within the front 7. This could take some time, but it is clearly not working the way it is set up. It starts first up the middle, then the edges. Biaz isn't an elite starter and he should be the first to be replaced. Target a legitimate NT and an elite Linebacker. Add size to the linebacker group as a whole.

-Next is the offensive skill, positional players. Must overhaul the running back room, do the same with the receiver group outside of Lamb. Cooks is a short-term stop gap.

-Very difficult situation with Dak, it will be very hard to keep that current deal on the books, but they also might not want to extend him, either. Don't know what they have in Lance, either. DON'T extend him and determine his value on the open market, even if he is here another season. Might be a good idea to see if they can get some value for Martin before it's too late as well.

I think the issue with coaching is we can’t seem to get by the Shanahan tree. Whether it’s Shanahan himself, McVay or Lefluer we need something to counter that philosophy. I don’t think the old fossils have any chance to solve that puzzle. We need a young coach that is on the cutting edge. Look at Detroit and Houston. Tough young coaches that are players coaches. Maybe Al Harris is the guy.

My concerns about hiring a young HC are, growing pains, dealing with the Jones Family and improving the culture.

I just have a question about Zack Martin. Didn't he hold out at TC? I thought he had a contract which made him return? Was his just for the year?

Bill would make this team into a super bowl contender, possibly even next year. The stopping the run issues would disappear.

However, is Jerry ready to let go control? I mean, really ready? He's going to have to in order to win a super bowl, of that there is not doubt. Would he really?
He won’t and shouldn’t let full control go. I wouldn’t ness with our draft team. Bill can have some input but roster issues is why the pats have a high pick. He’s a great coach but not so much at GM. But he should have total staff control.

Except the members of the draft team who decided on Schooner, Jaylon, Kelvin, Sam, and Randy Gregory, those guys need to be fired ASAP. Horrific decisions, and all major reasons why we got steamrolled Sunday.

He held out because he felt under paid. He signed an extension which basically runs thru 2025 with a couple of voidable years.

No team in the nfl hits on every pick but go compare our drafts to other teams and you see we are really good at drafting players compared to most teams

Until you start examining DT, LB, S, C, and OL after the first round. Those are the bad draft picks/non picks that keep us from winning.

Google nfl draft rankings. Dallas is always near or at the top depending how it’s ranked. Most are by starters, pro bowls and such. Dallas is one of the best drafting teams in the entire league
