My Thoughts So Far on T. Crawford

I've watched all the 1v1s from TC Live and I'm a little stunned that Crawford still hasn't developed his hand usage enough for me to agree that he's going to have a "breakout" season.

I see him getting caught up on blocks too much and he relies too much on his bull rush. Maybe the coaches tape is showing something different or his tremendous strength and ability to push the front of pocket is more consistent during the team periods.

I'm not saying that Crawford is a bust, but I'm just tapping on the brakes about the talk that he is going to have a breakout season this year. Obviously, we are in the early part of camp but reading the hype on him got me excited but now that I've seen some of his "tape" from the 1v1 segments I'm tempering that excitement.

Martin said Crawford is one of the most difficult guys he has had to block. He was including players he faced last season, not just other Cowboys players. He implied that Crawford was more difficult to block than Hardy.

It's already proven that he isn't a bust...so there's no need to even mention that you don't think he is

I had the pleasure of standing next to defensive sled drill yesterday and Crawford hit it harder and pushed it farther then everyone else.....also I keep an eye on Martin and he is a beast.....he never seems to get beat....Never!

Anyone on here like to trade Martin for 2 Johnny football's and a cold beer?

I'm cutting Crawford some slack, since he's had to deal with injuries to this point in his career. He's still young enough to learn and develop some good moves given added experience and I'm hoping he does. Once he's also assigned to someone other than Zack Martin in the games to come, he should very likely fare much better.

Crawford has been giving the OL hell in camp and IMO has looked really good. Have not noticed him not using his hands but will look for it now just to see if I see the same.

He blew his Achilles 2 years ago. Last year was essentially his rookie year. I am impressed with his rapid progress so far. He is only gonna get better and better. They better lock him up before his value skyrockets.

Martin has said that Crawford is the hardest to guard against on the d line and almost all the reporters have been saying how good his camp has been. So I'm not sure what you're seeing exactly?

I think the OP has a point, last year he was so close to many sacks but he could not get to the Qb quick enough even though he has a great first step.

Crawford often got doubled, sometimes with a delayed 2nd block, primarily because Hayden was easily single blocked. If they had a better 1tech, Crawford would have had more sacks.

I'd trade Martin for 3 first rounders, 2 seconds, and a 3rd......from a perennial bottom feeder of course. Now, since no GM would trade with me, then I can sit back and be happy and fat watching Martin become one of the premiere OL of his generation, while donning the Star.

Personally, I don't like the shoes Crawford wears. Until he corrects his footwear, he's still in JAG territory.
