I'm guessing they put Lawrence on the right side some because Gregory was sucked inside on at least 3 occasions on the bootleg. Marinelli probably got tired of Gregory not knowing his *** from his elbow.
Hey, he's rookie and hopefully it will get better but the one time he was tackling the runner while Cousins had the ball 5 yards outside the tackle box.

That doesnt make any sense to do that when they already have Hardy on the right side over Gregory. Im not saying Lawrence is horrible. Im just saying he will pull one of these types of games out every now and then. And then go back to be invisible.

IMO leaving Claiborne on an island with Jackson was probably a mistake.
Jackson may not be as fast as he once was, but that's a tough assignment for a good amount of corners.
That and that was a perfect pass from Cousins.

It was.

I'm drawing a blank if the defense was in his face or not on that pass. Either way, there was very little Claiborne could of done there. Excellent pass by Cousins(barf)

Hardy would be the most dominant LDE in the league and the run D would be better. Still if they were in a position to draft Bosa, they would get same result for less money and drama.

Stop reading the news clippings and you wont read drama. From what i see is a guy who doesnt take slacking in practice as acceptable. Is he perfect nope, but the guy is a leader on the field. Ill take that everyday. I dont know what ur seeing in Bosa, the guy has been stonewalled in one on ones against inferior talent this yr. Id rather have Ogbah over Bosa all day. All about production.

Marinelli didnt blitz and cousin has a clear line of sight no pressure on that play.

Even Gruden said it. "Thats probably the best thing that could happen for Washington right now", after DMC Scored.....

The correct call was to run the clock down....and either score on that 3rd down run, or just kick the FG.

We left them with far too much time, when we didnt have to do that.

Having said that, I see these things happening more and more all over the league.

Team won a ugly game lastnight. But Still a win. There were alot of good things that came out of last night, but some things that still bug me.

Gonna start with the star of lastnight, and that was Sean Lee. The guy was a monster in every sense of the word. He couldnt be blocked. He tackled and covered. He blitzed and had a sack. Complete game by a complete player. The more healthy he gets the more you see what a special player he is. Marinelli is starting to focus the defense around him and what he can do rather than depend on the unreliable McClain.

I hear alot of woofing about Lawrence. He had a great couple plays, and then saw more of the same that we have been seeing after. So much so that Marinelli moved him over to the right side to rotate with Gregory. And Moved Hardy over to the leftside. Thats when Washington couldnt do anything anymore. Hardy was basically in cousins face from the moment he went to the left side basically every play it seemed like.

Nick Hayden was a beast lastnight in the middle. Stuffing lanes and getting tackles. Once again he tied/led the DL in tackles and had a TFL.

Claiborne had a up and down game. Seems he struggled when the team didnt get any pressure when they werent blitzing. Claiborne seemed to struggle when matched up against speed or on them slants and in routes. Which probably comes from his knee and hammy injuries. Doesnt have the quickness or movement to cover them as good as you would like.

The passing game was much of the same. Low risk short quick throws with a few suprise hits down the field. Thats what Cassell is able to give the team. That pass on the final drive to Dez was beautiful. Especially because he had a DL coming right at him in the pocket and he just side stepped him casually and found an open Dez. He couldve lost the game 4 or 5 times lastnight but he overcame mistakes and got the win.

Gregory spoke about this, this past week in saying this team was 2-3 plays from winning these games they been losing. This has been the type of game Dallas had been losing all yr. But pulled it out.

Last thoughts are for the ridiculous thought process of some fans. Some fans were bashing McFadden for rushing for a TD. Seriously? Criticizing for trying to win the game. These fans were hoping the team would coach and play to not lose the game? And most of these fans that were doing this in the chatroom are the same people who criticize JG saying he coaches not to lose. But thats what they were wanting last night. Hypocritical much? That makes zero sense to me and its a shame that these fans this type of loser mentality and then have the nerve to call out this team.

McFadden scored, and nowhere on the field or sidelines was there a player who wasnt jumping in excitement. Im sure the team didnt expect Washington to run it out that far and im for sure they didnt expect Wilcox to get tagged with a 15 yrd facemask. Nobody expected Cousins to throw a picture perfect throw to Jackson because he couldnt do it all night. Guys just made plays from both teams in them last 4 mins of the game.

Its insane to think Dallas can still win this division. But its fun to watch.

I imagine if Lawrence moved over to the side and faced an All Pro LT, his success would wane slightly. Who wouldn't?

I was not happy with the team last night. so many things point to bad coaching. I have defended Garrett and other coaches, but last night was particularly bad. I don't have a problem with play design, scheme, etc. but the team played stupid. How could you get caught with 12 men on the field. isn't the returner suppose to count how many are out there?

the last two minutes was a debacle. why wasn't macfadden not told to stay in bounce. stupid players make stupid plays. we should have run, run, run. make them waste two timeouts and kick a field goal with 20 second left.

then why are we running man to man defense with the game on the line. we know they need a TD and not a first down. give them the first down.

undisciplined. stupid. not prepared for situational football.

Team won ugly. Games vs skins are always some sort of ugly.

More than ugly the team gave all out effort.

Pitbull defensive pressure.

You would not be saying it was the correct call if the field goal snap was bobbled or the kick was blocked. We would be seeing thread after thread today about how Garrett is an idiot for telling McFadden to fall down at the goal line.

Give all that agenda and bias crap a break. read the title it says my thoughts. Its what i think.

And your thoughts are completely biased.

Did you really call Mclain unreliable as compared to Lee?

And did you miss the 3 TFl's Lawrence had after the sacks, the biggest being the one that stopped a 3rd and 1 inside the redzone?

The fact that you think Lawrence was switched permanently during this game shows either you are either completely biased or just make things up to make a point.

Agree completely. It's insane to suggest that McFadden should not have scored. Our defense had been playing great all night, they hadn't given up a TD up until that point. If you have a chance to score, you do it. There are so many risks running several extra plays and trying to kick a FG, just ask the Browns. It was an absolutely pathetic effort by the defense, giving up that TD, but that's on the D, not McFadden or the offense,

Commanders had 2 time outs left. Chances are, we kick the FG, with time left anyway. If you can get the TD, you take the TD.
Why?
Because of the way the D was playing. Maybe a squib kick would have been better. But with a great return, and a 15 yard penalty....that set them up to run plays they normally may not have.
Chances were, if they start at the 20, we get the ball back on downs or a turnover. Take the TD. If they had one TO or none, yes, go for the FG run the clock down.

Better yet, why should McFadden need to be told to stay in bounds? Staying in bounds was a fairly elementary decision to make there, IMO.

Yeah I suppose I could see that angle. I still think , forcing them to take the timeouts, then taking a shot at the endzone , and then kicking a FG wouldve been the smart way to go.

But, for this team, that may be asking too much. Just get the ball in the endzone!!!! We havent been there too many times this year! See a chance , then do it!!!

My thoughts....there is a difference between entertainment and professional football....last night was about entertainment ONLY....

snippets from the media,

For 58 minutes, Monday night was the worst game of the NFL season. Neither team scored a touchdown, and it wasn’t because of great defense.

Against Washington, journeyman Dallas quarterback Matt Cassel struggled to move the offense. Running back Darren McFadden was stripped twice and lost both fumbles. The Cowboys had three turnovers and went 1-for-9 on third down -- all part of the formula for an NFC East win

Updated probabilities for NFC East teams winning the division: Giants - 39.6% Eagles - 38.2% Commanders - 18.0% Cowboys - 4.2%

Jerry Jones was pragmatic in the locker room after the game, saying he looks at the Cowboys more as a 4-8 team than one that is one game back in the division race.

A game that could be labeled as one of the ugliest seen this season through three quarters turned into thrilling fourth-quarter affair

What the heck its the holidays we all can drink and be merry cause....Somebody has to win....

No, I would be yelling about how inept they are at basic fundamentals. And playing the "If" game goes on and on and on.

The right call was to run the clock. But hey, it worked out. The Defense was playing well......

You can give the fan insults calling people losers a break too. Ruined your otherwise decent thoughts. There are threads devoted to the end of game mgmt take your vitriol there.

You want everyone to take in your thoughts than disrespect those who do not agree..loud guy at the end of bar syndrome

I thought Lawrence looked pretty good out there last night. If I were going to point to players that absolutely stunk up the joint my fingers would be pointed at jj Wilcox and Devin street
