This was a type of win we saw all of 2016. A close well fought out game that the team made a couple of plays that defined the win. A late drive by Dak that we saw all of 2016...
Im gonna start with a move that might have clicked. Starting Su'a Filo was impressive. The guy was flawless against one of the best DLs in the nfl. You can actually make an arguement he was the best OL in the game tonight. Its one game but tonight was against no chopped liver. The OL controlled the game, If they can do that to the eagles DL they can do it to any DL. And if they can continue to do that, look out whoever is playing them.
Amari Cooper is the real deal. The guys route running is on a different galaxy then anybody on this team. Its crazy how open he gets with his cuts. He is doing something that Dez couldnt do too. He's making his WR group better. Even on plays he's not getting the ball he's taking a S or LB with him. Teams are respecting him on every play because he is a great route runner. Im not even gonna say he's a good route runner because he's better than that. He is worth every bit of that RD1 pick Dallas gave up for him no question.
Moving on to the elephant in the room...Dak is who he is. He's going to be good and bad. The problem is fans will upscale the bad and minimize the good because the team didnt draft the QB they wanted. If this coaching staff will run more quick hit routes rather than trying to run the same ones they've been trying to run this passing game can flourish. There's no suprise when the offense was a faster pace Dak is as good as any QB in the nfl. Why? Is it because he's on par with Brady Brees and Rodgers? NO, not even close, but because the rules favor this type of passing attack and the defenses know it. Theres little teams can do in todays game to stop a quick hit route without getting a flag for PI or holding. I will say this though, Dak is getting some good chemistry with Cooper.
Elliot ran wild tonight, and IMO that had everything to do with the OL. Filo, Looney and Martin right up the middle. Why tho? Because they opened up lanes and allowed Elliot to get on them LB and S who cant tackle him.
Vander Esch, has changed my mind on Ridley. I always said i understood why they picked him, and today im glad they did. I cant see how the team could insert Lee back starting. Think the best thing the team can do is shelf him and either let him retire and bring him back as a coach if he chooses. Or release him and let him find another team early. LVE's has gotten the speed of the game and its coming easy for him now. He's getting off them blocks when he wasnt early in the yr. That play on the screen saved the game IMO. That play probably goes for a TD if he doesnt make the play.
Theres not much to complain about after this win. IMO them team(players, and coaches) played and coached an entire game. This is the type of win we saw all of 2016. A team who just wanted it more than the other team.
