My thoughts

I thought Garret did a very nice job for the most part. Hurd's TD was a kill shot that we didn't see in the past....run to eat the clock and then punt.

I was really disappointed in the design of the play on Romo's INT. Throwing a curl from play-action seems to be a recipe for disaster. The PA sucks the LB level up then they drop unseen by the QB into the level of the curl. Just a poor design unless Owens' curl was to free someone else behind him and Romo went to the wrong place. It was hard to tell live and I haven't rewatched it yet.

I can't believe the whining level of some supposed Cowboys' fans. Philly lost, Washington went to overtime with one of the poorest teams in the league and Dallas beats a division rival by 10 yet all some people can do is complain.

I got tired of hearing about the NYFG's injuries. They lost a first time starting RB and a pro bowl level DE. Dallas was without a top level WR, OLB, and CB and lost a decent DT early.

Gurode needs to stop with the brain farts on the shotgun snaps. That's going to cost Dallas a game sooner or later if it continues.

The curl was open but Romo was late in delivering the ball. The scary thing about the offense last night was I thought Romo was a little off in his timing.

I felt like they should of ran the ball there on 1st down, I know they wanted to keep the pressure on and I like that mentality but at home with a 10 point lead with 7 minutes left you have to at least try and run the ball some.

It did look like the curl was there until Wilson dropped back after biting on the fake.

It just reminded me of a double reverse when a player fooled badly by the first reverse is in perfect position to defend when it comes back around. They sucked Wilson up with a nice fake but then threw to the only place he could have recovered to.

I know Gurode did one snap way too high and the other snap was where Romo was not ready for it.:bang2: But oh well our offense smelled like spring

I agree, that was a weird play and a weird call in that situation. Which sadly almost ruined a good night. I don't know how the play was supposed to go, who the ball was originally designed for but it looked like Romo didn't even stop to think if it was open, he just assumed it would be and threw it.

The play action with crossing routes was working all nite..............the play in question had TO running a tight curl, virtually a hook pattern off of play action

I hope that Garrett has not caught Landry's Disease: the need to get too cute when simple and brutal will work better.

I don't want to be negative, and your point is a good one: a 10 point win over a divisional rival. But the Defense worries me. Roy does not look like the guy who was hailed as great and the rush was barely there. I was at first wondering how Eli even got hurt, he had so much time and barely got hit.

I hope you're right in alluding to it being a divisionall thing, the Giants do play us tough. The O looks like it will gel nicely, but the D scares me and after game one seems a legitimate concern. I hope Newman is back next week.

The way our D played last night, I don't see how we can complain about wanting to be more conservative on offense. Three runs and a punt would have put that D out there again to get killed.

I believe Garrett did a very good job last night by staying aggressive. Although I'm one of the few that still like Tuna, last night could have been very well lost with a more conservative gameplan.

Especially with his use of the RB's. He stayed with what he was doing in the preseason, giving Barber some meaningful playing time. Some of JJ's 16 runs should have been receptions though (or Barber runs, for that matter). But it's hard not to take what they're giving you on a silver platter.

The pitch to JJ on the first drive and the pass to the FB were about the only plays all night that didn't look like they had a chance.

Stating the obvious - that our defense is horrid - is not whining. It's simply a statement of fact. The Giants may be a division rival, but they're not a very good team. They're the worst team in the NFC East, and will do well to go 6-10. Their offense isn't nearly as good as our D made them look.

They kept flashing the Giants' injuries onscreen, as if the Cowboys had none.

The thing that annoyed me on the pick was how Madden kept saying that it was the result of a Giants' adjustment. Fact is, that wasn't anything like the plays that Witten and others kept burning them on.

The pitch to Jones looked like it might have had a chance. Jones wasn't as patient as he could have been. It seemed like he simply outran his blocking to the edge.

JJ's judgment and his instincts are running about neck-and-neck right now.
