My Thoughts

Tough loss, very hard to stomach.

But here are some of my thoughts...

OFFENSE - The offense has gotta stop coming out slow. It needs to come out of the gates attacking. A big part of that game was the fact that we came out of the gates down 14-0.

Romo - Romo is and will be good. He had a good game against the Patriots

Jones - he also had some good runs against the Patriots. A lot of the stuff we blame him for is the OL's inability to run block.

Barber - wow...I think it's time we start the countdown to make him starter...

Owens - good game, just wish we could've stretched the field a bit more.

Crayton - also, good game, just would've been nice if we could take shots downfield.

Offensive Line - cmon, OL, this is embarrassing. WAY too many holding penalties. OL has a lot to think about right now.

Fasano - um, when Romo's going back to pass, you CANNOT set a pick before the ball's thrown. Ok?

DEFENSE - The defense played pretty well on 1st and 2nd down. Seemed that pretty much all the Patriots' offense came on 3rd down. We HAVE to work on the third down conversions. So many of the Pats' drives could've been 3 and outs, but ended up being back-breaking TD's. Because of this 3rd down completion percentage, the D NEVER had time to rest.

Ware - you are the man.

Henry and Tank - we need you guys...

All I can really say about the defense is that we need to work on 3rd down defense.

What can I say? Our team showed a lot of heart. The only problem is that penalties and failure to stop them on 3rd down just drains the heart right out of you.

I'm proud that we were able to stick with the Patriots for 3 quarters, but for the reasons I mentioned above, we just tired out in the 4th.

And to the Patriots - This win does not validate your 3 Super Bowl "wins". Nothing will validate that. The entire Patriots organization is an organization of cheaters from the bottom up. You WILL get yours, hopefully at teh hands of the Cowboys.

Barber should be starter. Jones should be change of pace back. More good things happen when Barber is in there than when Jones is. Thus, Barber shold be the starter because you want your best 11 players on the field at any time.

It sucks when the other team has 3rd and 9 and you just know they are going to convert. This was the problem last year too. Hopefully, it will get corrected. You just have to get off the field on 3rd and long more often than not.

Barber makes more plays than Julius, but by making him the starter teams won't fear the run on 3rd. Julius keeps them honest early and offers a bit more speed that can draw LBs side to side. Barber scares people. It's a good 1-2 punch. If Julius could get on track, it'd be dangerous.
