Here is my top ten BIGGEST Cowboy victories

1. 1992 NFC Championship game - it launched a dynasty.

2. Super Bowl VI - Landry, Lilly and company gets the monkey off their back.

3. Week 17 of 1993 season in New York - if Dallas lost that game, then you very weel could have kissed goodbye the dynasty and back-to-back Super Bowls.

4. Week 16 of the 1995 season - in a home game against the Giants, and following the debacle in Philadelphia blowing 4th and 1 twice, the Cowboys were in Danger of losing home field advantage. Kevin Williams makes a diving catch on a 4th and 3 (?), keeping the final drive alive. Dallas kicked the winning FG with no time left on the clock. Dallas kept their Bye and home field advantage as they went on to Tempe for Super Bowl XXX (completing their dynasty).

5. Week 11 of the 1977 season - after opening up the season going 8-0, Dallas dropped two games to St. Louis and to Pittsburgh. In a nip & tuck battle all the way, the Cowboys get back on track in RFK and survive the Commander onslaught 14-7. The Cowboys would not lose again that season.

6. The 1975 Divisional Playoffs - the Hail Mary game launched Dallas into the very successful second half of the 70s.

7. Week 15 of the 1985 season - in a pivitol divisional game against the Giants, Jeffcoat catches a deflected pass by Too Tall Jones, seasling the division for the Cowboys.

8. Super Bowl XXVIII - the Cowboys keep their dynasty alive with probably the best played second half of football in their history.

9. 1970 NFC Championship game - Tom Landry finally breaks through and wins the NFC.

10. Super Bowl XXX - despite losing 31 players to free agency the previous three years, Dallas beats Pittsburgh to finalize their dynasty.

Other big games:

- Super Bowl XII
- Week 16 of the 1979 season (Staubach's last miracle)
- 1972 Divisional Playoff (Staubach's first miracle)
- Weeks 2, 6, & 12 of the 2003 season (Parcells 1st year)
- Thanksgiving 1990, 1994, & 1974
- Weeks 13 & 16 of the 1991 season (beating Skins & Eagles)

Biggest, not best cowboy games?

I agree with all those games just a few in a different order.

You nailed it. Through all the years of living and dying with the Cowboys (from the mid 70's), the 1992 NFC championship game still gives me chills and a feeling that is hard to match. I love Alvin Harper. The "back breaker" was the best moment of my sports life.

To me, Nos. 1-5 would have to be Super Bowls. Any win in the NFC playoffs or regular season will never be as big as a Super Bowl win.

the 92 nfc championship game hands down was the best!!!!!
the 93 giants season finale is my vote for 2nd.
the 80 playoff game against atlanta runs a close third.

I can appreciate that. It makes sense.

My thinking is if it weren't for those other games, then there wouldn't be any Super Bowls.

I was looking for games that changed the fate of this franchaise for the better. The Super Bowls sealed the deal (yes, that's important).

So I'm not arguing with you - we are just looking at this differently.

My thinking is that those games are important now only because we won the Super Bowl. If we had lost to Buffalo in Super Bowl XXVII, winning the NFC title game wouldn't mean as much now. And you could argue that our 1992 playoff rout of Philadelphia was bigger than the NFC championship victory, because without it, we wouldn't have been in the NFC title game.

Anyhow, I'd rather break them into Super Bowls (ranked 1-5), playoff wins (ranking the top five or 10) and regular season (same). That way, you don't have to worry about whether beating the Giants for homefield advantage in 1993 was bigger than beating the Broncos in Super Bowl XII.

That is clearly the #1 game on the list. Even more than the '92 championship game establishing the Cowboys as the team of the 90's, that super bowl win finally established the Cowboys as a champion.

EXACTAMUNDO... THOSE WERE MY THREE... GREAT CHOICES

Add to that the complete *$$ whooping the Eagles got in Texas Stadium last year, which is what I was so hoping for, due to the Eagles recent dominance and you got some great games there... Also, you might throw in the 27-0 stomping of the Commanders in DC in 2003, where Hambone ran for 150+ and Dallas whipped the Spurrier coached Skins... I loved that one... We need to hand the Skins another one like that, albeit it's gonna be a lot harder since Gregg Williams runs that defense now and Gibbs is back on board. I love dominating performances.

You have to correct number 4.
Dallas was the #2 seed that year.
San Fran was #1,but they got upset by the Packers, thus allowing the Cowboys to host the NFC Championship game at home.

i think last season's 'roy williams' win over eagles win was kinda symbolic in a sense of the window finally closing in philly for a championship. Not top 10 worthy of course, but i thought it was worth mentioning
