Just for a wild scenario: Dolphins shock everyone and Flores gets a star defender at #5 in Isaiah Simmons. Instead they wait on Jordan Love and also trade up to get their LT of the future. Jordan Love and Austin Jackson go 17 and 18 as the future of the Miami Dolphins offense. Dolphins give up pick 70 to move up.

26- Cesar Ruiz C Michigan- Plug and play with pro bowl level potential at C. The team saw what happened the year Fred missed and don't want to miss their window with Dak under center

51- Jeff Gladney CB TCU- Doesn't have elite size, but he's a tough scrappy defender that is sticky in man coverage.

70- Curtis Weaver DE Boise St- Not the most explosive athlete but has all the other tools to be an affective pass rusher: great hand usage, shows counter moves, and good hip flexibility to turn the corner.

82- Terrell Burgess FS Utah- Former nickel CB that converted to S his senior year and exceled. Good ball skills and coverage ability with the willingness to be a tough tackler.

123- Devan Duvenay WR Texas- Muscled up slot WR with track speed. Not the traditional slot that is an overly shifty route runner, but in the nfl era of quick throws and getting WR's in space he's a great fit.

164- Tanner Muse LB Clemson- College S with a muscled up 227 lb frame that can likely get to 235 playing weight no problem. Very fast straight line speed and likes to hit. Worst case scenario he has the makings of a ST ace.

179- Isaiah Hodgins WR Oregon St- Doesn’t have great speed, but he’s a polished route runner and has great hands to go with a big 6’4 frame. Could turn into a reliable possession WR.

231- Pete Guerrerio RB Monmouth- “The Jet” is a track star turned RB. The athletic traits are worth gambling on as a return man/3rd RB.

Good first two picks. I like other Edge guys at 70 but a lot of people like Weaver. Hodgins is my favorite day three WR.

Not a fan of Weaver or Duvenay. I think Duvernay is a down roster player in the NFL. Repleace that Weaver pick with Van Jefferson and I like mock alot better

That trade is pretty realistic value. However for a team moving to get their QB, Id hope for a little better value

A few thoughts...

-Is it worth only a 3rd to move up 9 spots? Especially if they are desperate. They cant not get a QB in this draft. Not really a difference make here, just saying.

-Ive already exhausted myself as far as allocation of resources w the OL, and wont again.

-If Jerry told Peter King our exact draft strategy in advance, and gave his blessing to tell the world, and thata what we actually DO...we are all wasting our time w this team until he is long gone.

What exactly happened the year Frederick missed? Looney was fantastic, we made the playoffs, and lost to the Rams and it had nothing to do with the lack of Frederick.

Think we should just wait for a center until later in the draft. Cushenberry 2nd or 3rd, Hennessy in the 3rd, Harris in the 3rd or 4th, Biadasz in 4th or 5th. All could compete for the center job.

Agreed here. That’s moving up a lot for a 3rd rounder for a team with 100 picks lol

56 sacks happened. Vs 32 and 23 the years before and after with Fred. Cooper saved it some and the team got hot at the end of the year, but the offense was never running on all cylinders because of the o line.

By the way, I’m not saying this is what I want or what I think the team should do...just playing devils advocate of what the team could view as a business decision if Dak’s deal isn’t close. Get the most out of him while he’s here with a good o line in front of him...they likely believe the weapons are in place.

Pretty darn solid draft. I'm all for trading back for Ruiz if no defender worth the pick is sitting at 17. Game is won in the trenches and we just lost an all pro level of talent in the middle of our line.

Yes. This is correct. The blind will tell you Looney surrendered 40 sacks by himself

Every single spot on the OL has either a premium pick or salary attached to it, yet we continue to run scrubs out there at safety, and wonder why Aaron Rodgers can do whatever he wants when we play them.

We will find out what BS that Ruiz comment was soon enough.

If Jerry told King that, and told him to tell the world, and that's what they actually want to do....that's beyond stupidity even for Jerry.

There’s some good scouting reports about Keith Ismael from SDSU as well. I think he would be a good prospect for 3rd-4th round.

So it was sheer coincidence that the # of sacks drastically increased the 1 year Looney started? Come on man, I know you're smarter than that. I'm not saying it was all Looney's fault, but blitz pickup has a ton to do with it and Looney failed at it that year. He's a good backup and solid enough for spot starts, but relying on him for the full year again would be a mistake. Obviously I'm aware they drafted McGorvern but he's no sure thing and hasn't played all that much C in general. Then there's Williams being less than 12 months off an acl...there's a lot of questions is all I'm getting at it. Having 2 side by side ?'s on the o-line is scarier than a lot of people are admitting

But like I said, this was me playing around with the rumored scenario out of pandemic boredom. My preference is to stay at 17 and let a top talent fall to us.
