Fender American Select Stratocaster HSS , I WANT IT!
  • Mahogany body
  • C-shape maple neck
  • HSS setup (gotta have the humbuckler at the bridge)
  • Finally, top it off with the fact that it's an American Strat!

Damn, it's sexy. Though if there is one thing I might possibly change, I would remove the Rosewood fretboard and go with straight Maple. Those Rosewood is good too. My first Fender had a Maple fretboard and I loved it.

I think this guitar makes the Schecter Blackjack or Hellraiser C1 FR which was what I wanted to be my next electric, now move back a spot.

Obviously I still need a Taylor Big Baby Acoustic

So, I brought it up to her today AND bought her a ticket to the Mavs vs Heat game in Dallas (will be in Dallas for Thanksgiving) and she is sounding quite receptive to getting the Fender. :)

Jobs should purchase Gibson, and get it away from that idiot. It would actually be a step up.

Who owns Fender and why is he an idiot?

On topic, it is a sweet guitar. I'd buy it in a second, if I happened to have 1200 smacks lying around.

You know, I REALLY want it. My issue is, I already bought the Les Paul this year. Spending over $2,500 on guitars in a single year is probably not what I should be doing. Having some disposable cash is a good thing, free spending every penny of it on myself probably isn't. Maybe I will just get the Taylor Big Baby (less than have the price and I don't own an acoustic already) and spend the rest on my kids and wife. (well, the wife already has tickets to the Heat / Mavs game)

My buddy had a red Charvel back when we first started playing around '88 or '89. I loved it. He traded it in for a Takamine electric that look like a Gibson Explorer. I was not happy with him when he did that.

That is a sweet guitar. I see it comes with the DiMarzio ToneZone humbucker in the bridge. That is a sweet pickup and the exact one I put in the bridge of my Ibanez RG. I absolutely love the sound it puts out it is easily my favorite DiMarzio pickup. The Evolution is a popular model too. I have the ToneZone, PAF Pro(neck) and the HS3 (middle single coil). DiMarzio makes great pickups; you will be happy with them if you don't already have any. (especially the ToneZone)

btw, Maple fretboards a great. Rosewood is nice, but I love the feel of Maple fretboards. That would be a great axe to add to your (or my! ;) ) collection.

I have gas but I just can't afford any new guitars right now.

Kind of been gassing for an SG...probably the only Gibby I would buy.

I would also like a dean caddy but the current models they offer just don't have the combination of things I want. I just love the dean V neck (the neck profile not the headstock). Maybe a soltero would work.

Gotta love Strats with Humbuckers in the bridge. (got one myself) The sound is amazing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can thank Eddie Van Halen for that little innovation. His Frankenstrat is the first strat I know of with a hum in the bridge.

Get it, dude!

You owe it to yourself. You probably spoil your wife and kids, why not yourself for a while. Yeah, you got the Gibson...but getting a sweet guitar like that...? Well, if it were me...I would buy it.

You already gave up on a ticket to a Cowboys game, so reward yourself with your stance against Jones. ;)

Get the Taylor, too. it's only money, bro...you will make more.

Okay, I bought that booger last night. 15% off for Cyber Monday! :D

That said, I've decide I will probably sell my Gibson Les Paul Studio. First, I'm going to spend the next two weeks with the Fender to ensure it is what I really want. If I decide to keep it, I will sell the Les Paul.

I like the Les Paul don't get me wrong. I knew for a long time that Les Pauls just weren't really for me. I made a mistake purchasing it knowing that it didn't perfectly fit me. Now I will probably bite the bullet and sell it off. I just can't live with having that much money invested in a guitar that I'm not 100% completely happy with.

My first guitar was a Fender strat and I absolutely loved it. This strat is a thing of beauty. It has a mahogany body and all the bells and whistles along with incredible craftsmanship. I'm so freaking excited to get it!

If anyone is interested in my Les Paul, PM me. While I haven't decided to sell it just yet, if I keep this new Fender it is probably inevitable.

It is a 2010 Les Paul Studio and is in mint condition and includes the hard shell case shown below. No scratches or dings. It has a transparent Wine color finish that shows the wood grain beneath and has gold hardware. Obviously if you are interested, I will post high-res pics of every inch of the guitar to ensure you know exactly what you're getting.

I returned the Fender. It was a sweet guitar, but I guess I'm just not a Fender guy anymore. I guess I have converted over to be an Ibanez man now. I just haven't found a guitar that matches it. (though Jacksons are pretty close in terms of feel, but the Ibanez Wizard necks are king)

Now, I'm thinking about getting this one. Ibanez RG2550E Prestige Series (everyone on Youtube has the black one, I think the white looks better) The light makes the pick guard look pinkish though. I hope it isn't pink.

It says it has DiMarzio pickups, but I usually don't care for Ibanez branded pickups. I will either switch the bridge to a DiMarzio ToneZone, or have it routed out and put some active Seymour Duncan Blackouts in it.

Every guitar I've gotten just doesn't stand up to my current '97 Ibanez RG270DX in a combination of playability and sound. (sound based on my style of play)

I've been debating just not buying a guitar and just playing my current RG though I just feel the need to have a nicer guitar. Musicians Friend has the RG2550E for three hundred bucks off their normal selling price. GC said they would match that. I might have to do that.

Maybe I should just drop some Blackouts into my Les Paul instead of selling it. :laugh2: Though that may ruin its value. That would be bad if I still didn't like it afterwards since I would have to rout the guitar to install them. :(

My favorite guitar was the Fender Prodigy. It's very similar to this, but with a Floyd Rose locking tremolo, which I much prefer as it keeps the guitar in perfect tune at all times.

I had replaced the bridge pickup with a mean *** humbucker from an old Kramer.
