My wife is going to be pissed.

Just get you an Ibanez Jem (vai) Bad Horsie guitar and be done with it. Spend that money man.

Most Jems have flowers on their fretboard. I don't want that. :laugh2: The one that doesn't has seven strings. I have no need for seven strings.

I generally avoid guitars that have musician names attached to them. You usually can get almost the same exact guitar that doesn't have the name and for a whole lot less. From what I can tell the Jem and the RG prestige models are the same guitar except for the pickups and the Jems have Alder bodies. (and the routed hand grip of course) I'm betting there are RGs that you can get with a Alder body too. I prefer the save the $1k and just get the RG2550E. :)

My favorite guitar was the Fender Prodigy. It's very similar to this, but with a Floyd Rose locking tremolo, which I much prefer as it keeps the guitar in perfect tune at all times.

I had replaced the bridge pickup with a mean *** humbucker from an old Kramer.

What type of music do you primarily play?

Today? Almost none, unfortunately. I've played in all sorts of bands, however -- rock bands, church bands, jazz bands. When I play personally nowadays, it's mostly blues and rock.

I actually need to sell my Fender Prodigy...it's a cool guitar, but I don't use it much.

Color and price (you can PM me)?

I had one, but gave it to someone as a present, thinking they'd keep it forever -- of course they sold it shortly after.

Woot. I just bought it. Musicians Friend had it for $699 (usually $999) with some free software and hardshell case.

So, I called Guitar Center and they match prices +10%. I got it all for $669. Score! :laugh2: I saved over $500 off what I originally spent for the Fender. :) The wife won't be as pissed. :laugh2:
