I know. Who cares what I think, right? But since I started the thread anyway I may as well list a few things I am thinking about. Please don't flame too much:D

First: I am proud to announce that I am a recovering "temper tantrum Cowboys game watcher". It's about time. I'm 66 freaking years old. None of the family wanted to be in the same room with me when the Cowboys were playing. It's now been six games and only two curse words have escaped my mouth. One was "damn" four weeks ago and last night was an F bomb, but who can blame me.

Second: Do the Cowboys hold the all time record for finding novel ways to lose games? It's hard to believe the things that happen to this team.

Third: We have suffered significant injuries the last few years in Arizona. Namely Tony Romo and Matt McBriar. I didn't want to post anything in advance, fearing bad karma, but I was wondering which key player we would lose for a few games this time. So you can imagine how I was freaking out for both Robinson and Ware when they went out. Thankfully they are both okay.

Fourth: When Bailey made the made the FG that was nullified and had to re-kick, I was hoping we would see a repeat of the Nick Folk performance in Buffalo. I actually thought it would happen. Instead, we got a Nick-Folk-after-his-injury performance.

Fifth: I really don't care if Rob Ryan, spawn of Buddy, does get a HC gig next year. This defense doesn't impress me, especially at the end of a game on a drive we really need to stop.

There's no doubt that having no OTA's limited Ryan's opportunities to install his system. However, I don't see the exotic blitzes and strategies that should thoroughly make life miserable for bad/average QB's like Kolb, Grossman and Moore. And he should have that much installed after 11 games. 12 now.

Sixth: I had no idea that Arizona's defense was that good. They played an absolutely brilliant game and Patrick Peterson is the man.

Oh, I'm with you, Leon. When I saw Bailey make the nullified field goal, I thought it was a portent of things to come. Little did I realize it was a glimpse into an alternate universe that wouldn't come to pass.

It ripped my heart out. I figured right then that we had lost the game unless we won the coin toss. I've got no confidence in the defense with the game on the line.

When we lost the coin toss, I was pretty sure we lost the game.

Isn't it interesting that special (ed.) teams have killed us in Arizona the past three trips?

Nice post, and I agree.

On defense, I'm not sure we appreciate the talent upgrade we need. Really, what we seem to do is ask Ware to play like the pro-bowler he is, hope the DB's don't play horrifically and pray something good happens. We need quite a few new players there.

On Arizona D, they are decent, but out O-line is very inexperienced right now and the pass protections called do not seem to be correct for the blitzing going on. We have seen this before, but it shows up from time to time.

This, even though he inherited poor secondary and ILB play.

Leon, I think this is the year I finally dealt with losses in a more mature manner.

Now, I'm pretty even keeled on this forum, but I did have a nasty habit of screaming at the TV when things went wrong. The last time I remember doing this was the Roy fumble vs the Saints on Thanksgiving.

It's much better for my health, that's for sure.

Better than me, Leon. I nearly broke my car door listening on the radio.

Congrats man. I'm also a recovered temper tantrum thrower. Just ask any of the long time mods on here..lol

I still nearly have a heart attack with all these games going down to the wire.

BTW, I sure miss the Hawaii climate. I lived in Papaikou, 4 miles north of Hilo for 7 years. The temp here this morning is 32 with a "feels like" temp of 25. BRRRRR. My cat, who we brought with us from Hawaii doesn't want to go outside. But after all he is a descendant of King Kameowmeow.

Leon I still say a few choice words but I don't get quite as upset as before..

I think we need at least 4 more difference makers on defense they don't have to be all pro but they can't be just a guy either..they need to make at least one play in a game...we got guys on defense that just do there job but we got 3 that do a little more and that is Ware, Rat and Lee...and that is it. We need some guys that can make a play.

they need to draft defense heavily the next draft maybe the next 2 drafts imho.

I was even pissed off about the coin toss, I was screaming heads and they called tails. I shook my head sadly knowing they couldn't even get that one right.

"Expect better and you will get better, expect mediocre and that is what you will get"

look at the responses on this forum and you will see that fans of this team expect mediocre and make excuses for falling short

is it a surprise that the coach coaches not to lose?

Our cat is still clinging to the ceiling after my response to not calling the time out as soon as we got the 1st down.

Up until that point I was just shaking my head.

I'm doing better with tantrums during the game. I'm learning. Breaking my finger during the Detroit game helped.

Yeah, I quit yelling and cussing at the TV a long time ago over games I don't play in and now I feel much better. It never feels good when your favorite team doesn't play well enough to win but that is their problem not mine. I no longer get depressed when they lose but then I don't go crazy when they win, either. Watching football is much more enjoyable now and I like me better when I am being good company instead of when I dragged everyone down with my football insanity.
