Myles Garrett requests trade

When it's all said and done, I think Garrett will be remembered as the best defender of the 2020s.

Deals for NFL studs are usually hard to make, because of the double whammy of giving away big-time trade compensation and adding a huge cap hit. But Garrett's the kind of guy where you have to make it happen.

2 years 40 million cap hit. Some team would have to trade compensation to the team and give him a new 4-5year deal to spread that out.

Well there are some teams out there with lots of Cap space. They could take it.
I could see a team thinking they are really close doing it. Hate to say it, but the skins got a lot of cap space....
Now the picks will be the real sticking point.

You absolutely trade for Garrett if he is a final piece type.

Is that where this team is right now?

Besides, Sam Williams is much cheaper and that’s what matters most.

Little Enos will be all over this!

Hey Cleveland - how bout a 7th in 2037?

Hey Myles - let’s talk contract. Thinking about a 10 year extension at a solid $1m per year.

If this was one of the premier DTs in the league asking for a trade then I'd definitely go all in and do whatever it took to get him. But as just an edge rusher...I'll pass, even though he is great.

just an edge rusher? wow did you fail football 101?

Let us all just take a moment to imagine Micah and Garrett as bookends.
I cannot think of any time in the last twenty years at least where there was the chance of having two such rushers on the same team. By the time DeWare got to Denver, he was past his prime.

If the Cowboys traded for Garrett, you can be sure of one thing, you're waking up soon. Cleveland has to trade him before March 16th. Then he's a 20m cap hit for the next two years, and I'm pretty sure that 37m in void years comes with him. Then he's going to want a monster extension. Even if the Browns traded him to Dallas on March 17th, Jerry still wouldn't do it.
