You can't blame the Cowboys for being leery of drafting injured players, considering the bad luck they've had with them in the past.

After welcoming a rash of cripples too many times year after year for two decades, I imagine it finally dawned on them to pass on it.

So it would seem to be with Myles Jack. Despite being all the temptation in the world to draft him, there's gotta be an end sometime.

It seems like when we draft injured/injury prone guys that they are ignored by the coaching staff. I'm not familiar with the IR rules, but even when these players are deemed 'healthy' it looks like they haven't seen a playbook or a film session during their entire rehab. With this philosophy in place, it makes zero sense to draft players who won't be 100% by rookie camp.

Jack & Jalen Smith go into the box and are only draftable if the Cowboys find themselves washed out
in a particular round. They might pick one of them if they make it to the 6th round comp picks.

Wasn't it the Cowboys team doctor that did the surgery or was that for Smith?

First I have heard of a sub board? How does it come into play during the draft?

Same question from me..is this like an alternate board where they will look at if the guys they really want are gone?

It's a shame, the best two lb's in this draft have injury concerns. I wouldn't use a 2nd but if I thought either could return to what they were I'd use a 3rd on one of them. If you sit them for a year a get a great player. The question is can either ever be what they were

He's definitely an athletic specimen. He's a great coverage linebacker, but otherwise nothing on his tape really stood out to me. He could just as easily be Bruce Carter as he could Luke Kuechly.

I hope we have learned our lessons choosing guys that have dropped becuz of injury, drugs or attitude questions.

On the other hand..

I don't want us to pass on somebody like Moss and instead pick an Ellis.

There is really pressure here to make the immediate impact choices for about 4 positions on this team..

RB..CB..QB and DL.

Don't know the order but I see the holes.

Lee and Leary have done alright for us. I see the injury aspect as a calculated risk. I don't see any sense in a guy with a drug history. I mean, if you are that into smoking dope that you can't stop even when you know you will be tested, then teams should learn to stay away. We have made some bad choices in that regard.

I just read Gregory has failed four tests in his short NFL career. Not just the two I knew of.

Thank goodness you didn't say Bobby Carpenter!
