One of the more intriguing matchups Sunday will pit Vikings rookie receiver Percy Harvin against Cowboys nickel back Orlando Scandrick.

Harvin was named the NFL's offensive rookie of the year after catching 60 passes for 790 yards with six touchdowns and also averaging 27.5 yards per kickoff return with two TDs.

Harvin is versatile enough to line up all over the field, but Brett Favre enjoys having him in the slot.

That would pit him against Scandrick, a second-year player who overcame a rocky start this season to finish strong.

"Scandrick is playing well," Dallas coach Wade Phillips said. "We know (cornerbacks) Mike Jenkins and Terence Newman are playing well, but Scandrick is playing well, especially the second half of the season."

I wonder if Coach Wade has thought about having Newman shadow Harvin like he did with Steve Smith

idk...i think we should play match ups.....have Newman follow Harvin around, when hes on the field....have Jenkins on Rice...and o scan on berrian.....with 2 safeties over the top

in base D...we should just let them line up wherever ......because Jenkins and Newman are lights out....and O scan is getting there

This one matchup does scare me. Hopefully Scandrick is up to the task!

I love you Percy, but not this week. This is favre's go to guy on third downs. Harvin is tough and isn't afraid to go across the middle. This macthup concerns me a bit. Being a gator fan I'm fully aware of how much damage harvin can do. Scandrick better be on his game Sunday.

I would think he has. If not, I'd say there is 0 chance of Scandrick and Harvin being man-to-man.

I would really hope so.

Percy can toast Scandrick. I'd much rather have Scandrick matchup on Berrian when they go three wide.
