Jay Ratliff does it all
IRVING - He's unselfish, always puts the team first and is a heck of defensive lineman.
And now he's even talking to the media.
Seeing Jay Ratliff do interview after interview Wednesday was one of the highlights of minicamp. Last season, Ratliff did his best to avoid reporters.
Now if we can only get Marion Barber to open up.
One of the best things about Ratliff as a player is his total lack of ego. Since his high school days in Georgia, he's been the ultimate team player, doing whatever his coaches ask of him.
With the Cowboys, he's played defensive end and nose tackle and done a bang-up job at each spot. With Tank Johnson stepping up his game, it's uncertain where Ratliff will be lining up this season. Such doubt would drive a lot of players crazy (think Greg Ellis), but Ratliff doesn't seem to mind at all.
"I've been doing that since high school," Ratliff said of moving from position to position. "It's nothing new to me.
It doesn't really matter to me. Just tell me where you want me and what you want me to do and I will figure out how to get it done. I was a tight end, safety, quarterback, everything."
And now he's on his way to becoming a media darling.
