Tashard Choice, who established himself as a fourth-round steal with his late-season play last season while filling in for the injured Marion Barber, will be making an appearance in San Antonio next month.
Choice, the former Georgia Tech star who more than held his own against the rugged Pittsburgh Steelers defense last season, will be at the Sports Authority's Stone Ridge Market store (21115 Highway 281) from 1-2 p.m. April 4.
I'm working on getting a phone interview with Choice to advance his appearance here. No doubt he'll have a strong opinion about the Cowboys' cutting Terrell Owens, who was Choice's mentor, according to the Dallas Morning News.
"I'm going to miss him," Choice told Dallas' Fox 4 recently about the release of Owens. "I think he was a good person in the locker room, to be honest. He was somebody I could count on, if he was just being a friend or a big brother or on Sundays. I could always count on him."
Choice suggested the notion that Owens was a disruptive force in the locker room last season was blown way out of proportion.
"You don't have to like the person next to you," said Choice, a budding locker room leader. "You don't have to agree with the person next to you. All you have to do is come to practice every day and be ready to play. You have to communicate as far as football."
