OXNARD, Calif. - With starting strong safety Gerald Sensabaugh expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks with a shoulder injury, the Cowboys are looking for veteran Pat Watkins (sore knee) and second-year player Mike Hamlin (concussion/strained neck) to return to practice this week.

Watkins and Hamlin are natural free safeties, but they could also be called on to fill in for Sensabaugh, whose participation in the season opener at Washington on Sept. 12 is in doubt.

I think Watkins has his work cut out for him because Church at this point looks better than a vet like Watkins.

I think Watkins has about as much chance of making this roster as I do.

Or even worse, Pat MqWasteofSpace!

:laugh2:

Pat Watkins had better play like an All-Pro, because I think the rookies are looking pretty good, and Watkins has not looked good in the past. With Watkins, they know what he can't do, but with the rookies, they can see the potential, and that has to be exciting.

Well if you make the team can you get me some better seats. I'll cheer loud for you. :laugh2:

I agree Watkins chance are slim the only way he makes if is if he puts contracts out on guys like Church

Oh sure, you and everyone else I don't really know!

I'd love to see Hamlin step up and produce big time. I think he can be a good player in this league if he can just stay healthy.

I have to admit I don't like Sensi nearly as much as most on this board do. I think he is solid and that's all he'll ever be. (which isn't bad, bc you need guys like that)

Clearly you forgot about that interception he had against the Titans in 2007.

That ought to buy him at least another year or two.

He actually made some good plays that year. People forget the vikings game where he scored the TD on a blocked FG.

He just cant stay healthy. He actually hasnt been a liability at all in the past few years when he played. The issue was, he hasn't been on the field b/c he keeps getting hurt.

Actually Watkins usually plays like an all-star, if the preseason had such things. And people are forgetting how good of a STer he is. He is 6'4 and runs like a deer, not to mention a willing hitter. IMO Watkins has been playing out of position since Wade arrived. He is definitely better suited to play FS.

1. It was 2006
2. It was a fumble recovery
3. He has had his chance.
