Stanback has role model in Merriman

Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman says he's going to play this season despite tears in both the posterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments in his left knee.
Four doctors have told Merriman he needs surgery, but they also said there was no time frame for a procedure to be done.
"My knee still looks pretty good," Merriman said. "The decision was left up to me to play. If you give a football player a decision to play, you know, I'm going to play."
My guess is Cowboys receiver Isaiah Stanback feels the same and will do all he can to thwart the surgeon's knife and play with a harness to keep his dislocated shoulder in place.
