Nagging little injuries

Seems to be a lot of little nagging injuries across the board, but not really any more than any other TC. Team does seem to be handling them a lot more carefully. But that brings me to what is probably another one of those annual questions:

How much of the injury maintenance is as much about the Cowboys not wanting to show their full hand before the regular season as it is about lowering the risk of re-injury?

- Keeping Dez out (maybe or maybe not. the league knows he's a monster)
- Holding McFadden out (widely assumed that he's done, yet recent reports are that he's doing great)
- I'm not sure that we've even seen the whole starting OLine working together
- Have not seen all of the starting CBs work together
- Haven't seen the starting LBs work together yet

I think the sum of all these parts will be much more than most expect when they come together in the regular season, and teams won't really have much film to go on in preparing for this team as it is currently constituted.

Yeah this is happening everywhere. I think teams more and more are reluctant to subject nicked up guys to preseason games, etc. Especially for vets that you know what you can likely expect from them when the lights come on for real.

They are not trying to hide veteran players. There is plenty of film on those players.

The only players they might try to hide would be those that they want to move to the practice squad.

Not necessarily talking about hiding players, I understand that there's player tape out there on the vets. Moreso talking about the units, schemes, and how this years' players work together.

Studying DMAC's Oakland film might not really give you good info on how he's gonna do behind this O-line with our receivers and studying Demarco behind this line may not give. No film on our starting LBs playing together: RoMc, Lee, and Hitchens. No film on our D-line playing together.

I'm not so sure if I agree with you. Here is the Steelers injury report from their website.

I think most of these nagging little injuries we're seeing are mainly due to the intense practices we're having. There's as much of an upside as a downside to that. The downside is obviously the lost time players are experiencing. The upside may well be the level of conditioning and the level of play that should follow.

I wish this website had another forum called "Injury Zone".

Dez being held out is more saving Dez from himself. He goes so hard and is so competitive, they likely thought it a good idea to not have him going against the Ram DB's.

McFadden was being held out because they wanted to make sure he was 110% (the team's words) before putting him out in any live action. He's a vet and it shouldn't hurt him to miss the time he did. He is out there against the Rams.

The whole OL has worked together up until about a couple days before the San Diego game. Smith felt a tweak in his bicep and the team decided to just rest him. Leary was pretty much the same way but it was his back.

Brandon Carr has the hand injury that Murray played with last year and the team is just letting him heal up, although he could play. Byron Jones just banged up his shoulder but was getting massive amounts of practice time at the boundry CB spot, the slot, and FS.

The only LB who has been out for any period of time is McClain.

How are the Commanders injuries? Will they even matter since Griffin is the best QB in the NFL?
